Despite Drex’s reluctance he had accepted her help so Noemi took that as a positive sign that he was becoming more comfortable with her. Before they could move forward with their collaboration the door hissed behind them. Noemi glanced behind her to see Elor had arrived. She must have just missed him when she left Sickbay.
Lim: Ah hello?
Drex: Welcome… Are you here to share your thoughts and your findings about the crazy nebula?
Letek: I have plenty of ideas. The question is whether we have enough data to solve the mystery.
Drex: I was reading through some data before Dr. Lim arrived. We were discussing the idea of building a simulation, from baseline medical scans to the data collected inside the nebula. Plug in everything we know, see what emerges.
Lim: ::Holding up her crossed fingers:: And cross our fingers that it’ll actually be usable information.
Letek: It's not my area of expertise, but it sounds reasonable. At worst it won't help, but it won't do much harm.
Lim: It’s certainly not ethical to return to the nebula just for getting some additional scans, and there’s not much guarantee that probes will actually work given our tech’s track record with the nebula.
Given everything that happened a return trip would probably cross into gross negligence since at the moment they really didn’t have a way to prevent the issues they had before from reappearing.
Drex: It’s just one idea. I think the computer might generate more than one possible path that leads us to the scenario we want. But if you’ve got a better approach, please, let’s hear it.
That was the moment Elor reached into his pocket and pulled out a purple isolinear chip.
Letek: ::holding up the chip:: I have something else here that might help us as well.
Lim: ::playful:: I knew you were holding out on me.
Drex: Response
Letek: I spent the morning transferring the memory banks from all the spacesuits. Everyone who was on the Ifir contributed to collecting data, even if they weren't thinking about it at the time.
Noemi winced at the memory of green blood splattered walls.
Lim: Heads up if you’re looking at video data from my group, it’s going to be rather gruesome.
Drex: Response
Letek: I know. It's more the medical data that can help us. The environmental sensors have only collected very limited information. But with any luck, we can use the data from the suit to find out how the nebula has affected us.
Noemi nodded in agreement.
Lim: Any bit helps given how little we have to work with.
Drex: Response
Elor plugged the isolinear chip into the console and transferred the data to the system.
Letek: Then let's see what we've found...
The data from their suits was pulled from the chip and pulled into the simulation Drex had started. After processing the computer spat out charts and tables of data for them to peruse.
Noemi sat down at another console and pulled up the information so she wasn’t reading over Drex’s shoulder the entire time.
Lim: Huh, the suits were picking up increased infrasound while on the Ifir. Might explain some of the irritation and anger issues?
Though it couldn’t explain everything.

Her tone was flat and mechanical in its recitation, both to keep the emotions out of her voice and mentally distance herself from it. Her counseling appointment couldn’t come any sooner.

Lim: We’d also experienced a shadowy figure rush and yell at us in an attempt at attacking before disappearing like it had never been. ::She shivered slightly at that memory:: Shared hallucinations or contagion behavior are a thing but neither of them work like that. Nor could Betazoid abilities create that kind of effect.
The surprise, the fear, the fight or flight emotions, yes those could be shared between people but not visual images.
