((Fuel Line Corridor, Deck 496 Aft | Igirni))

Jackson’s patience had dwindled and it had resulted in him itching to get on with this, so to speak. They had so far butted heads with their local representative who had basically told them nothing while they stood in the same area.

Tanner: ::Looking up further ahead at some marks on the wall.:: You sure we can’t touch anything?

Lim: ::To Tanner:: Please don’t injure yourself on accident.

Frinn: As long as you keep your hands off the fuel intake, you should be alright.

Braya: Response

Falt: What about scans? ::Holding up his tricorder:: Our devices are quite efficient and non-invasive. If we can compare our results to those schematics, it would be even better!

Frinn: That sounds acceptable too.

Lim: Mue has the ability to sense chemicals and wavelengths that most species can’t. It’s not even invasive.

oO Could be useful Oo

Braya: Response

Tanner: ::Almost despondent:: I bet this corridor goes on for ever.

The group moved on slightly and sensibly ignored Jackson’s moans. With Falt in the lead, Jackson was towards the tail end, trying to take in the Engineering aspects they passed.  The lurch and vibration that Jackson highlighted earlier that no one seemed to worry about, came around again.

Falt: ::Looking back at the others:: You mentioned lurches like this are not uncommon?

Frinn: They are not… although two this close together is… especially with the engines down already.

oO What do the Engines have to do this it? Oo

Braya: Response

Tanner: Well, that places it into the concerning category for me.

Falt: ::Jokingly:: Well, I hope someone checked the supports on this gangway recently!

Frinn: Trust me… if this ship ever falls apart, this will be the last bit standing. Those engines are heavy, and when active, produce enormous thrust. So rest assured they built this segment to withstand the most destructive power.

While that might have meant to sound comforting, Jackson wasn’t sold on it.

Frinn: Or so they should… if this part is already screeching, I bet other systems are in much more danger.

Falt: ::trying to keep his voice calm:: A little help?

Lim: You had to tempt fate!

In steadying himself, Jackson missed the commotion upfront, but could clearly see the Commander need to be pulled up.

Frinn: Tempt fate?

Braya / Falt: Response

Lim: That was too close for comfort.

Frinn: You are not wizards, are you?!

Tanner: Assuming that word translates the same, the answer is no.  The Commander was simply a victim of whatever is happening around us.

Jackson was beginning to be frustrated by the complete ineptitude of their associate.  He clearly had no idea what was going on around them, had no interest in being of any assistance and had no resorted to cheap tricks being the reason for things. Jackson closed his eyes momentarily and wished he was elbow deep in fixing the Engine instead.

Braya / Falt: Response

The ship lurched again, and this time prompted Jackson to see if he could get a handle on just what was causing this with his tricorder.

Lim: Is there somewhere we can go so I can treat his hand?

Frinn: I assume you brought supplies to help our injured? Won’t that help your own kind? If not, I can escort you to an aid station.

Jackson heard the sound as soon as their Voth companion did.

Frinn: RUN! This way!

Jackson moved with the group, which clearly didn’t quite understand the urgency of the situation.

Frinn: Do not linger!

The fuel line is about to break! We have no time!

As they rounded the corridor, Jackson could see a bulkhead door slightly ahead of them.

Tanner: Will this hold? ::As if they had a choice.::

Frinn: Response

Lim / Braya / Falt: Response

Jackson signalled on the console as they passed the threshold and the door swiftly closed behind them.  From Jackson rough estimations, it was safe to assume they would be contained from any adverse scenarios where they were.

Tanner: What a reckless place to have us if your fuel lines are so fragile!

Jackson was frustrated.  But more so at the sheer lunacy of the ship's current condition and seemingly abject failure to care or do anything about it.

Frinn / Lim / Braya / Falt: Response

Calming himself to consider what they could make out of this.

Tanner: How long before your bridge manages to cut off the section and make it safe? I’d like to look at the condition of that served fuel line.

Frinn / Lim / Braya / Falt: Response
