((OOC - only dropped one tag because the scene is fraught!))

((Conference Room, USS Eagle-A))

Genkos rested his cane against the conference room table, interlacing his fingers in front of him on the table’s surface. His hands rested on the wood and he was quite impressed to feel just how calm and smooth the material was - it was another reminder that the Eagle was almost entirely new, except for her crew.

Adea: I guess the first thing to establish is, what does everyone want… ::he raised a slender finger from the clutched hands:: baring in mind that in a true compromise, everyone will end up slightly dissatisfied.

Karen leaned back slightly, her dark eyes shifting from Epoma to Octil, as if gauging their reactions to Genkos’ words.

Stendhal: ::with a touch of her characteristic bluntness:: The Captain is right. Compromise is usually a bitter pill, but it’s better than the alternative.

Epoma: I would like whatever is happening on Ondo to be handled with the least amount of disruption to the planet and the Alomian people as possible.

Genkos nodded at what the Minister had said - he could understand her position as being a difficult one - arguably the least “emotional” of the trio, she had vested interest, but wasn’t ideologically opposed to their intervention.

Adea: ::turning his attention to the others:: And you two?

Zebba / Octil: Response

Stendhal: Before we look at technical solutions or political concessions, we need to be honest. Are we here to save a way of life, or are we here to save the lives themselves? Because at the current rate of terraforming, you may not have the luxury of choosing both.

Genkos cast an eye over at Karen, curious as to what she meant. Of course they were there to save lives; that was the most important thing.

Epoma: Saving the lives of course.

Adea: Agreed.

Zebba / Octil / Stendhal: Response

Epoma: You and your followers are certainly welcome to stay and ‘meet the gods’ if that is what you wish, but we are not required to follow you into death.

Genkos could tell Epoma was tired, and so gave her a reassuring smile.

Adea: I’m sure all of us would like to avoid unnecessary loss of life.

He just had a horrible feeling they all had a different definition of "unnecessary".

Zebba / Octil / Epoma / Stendhal: Response

Commanding Officer

USS Eagle-A

G239502GS0

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
