((Horchata Cafe, Bolarus IX))
The café was exactly the kind of place Jackson gravitated toward on shore leave. Open air, shaded by broadleaf trees, and far enough from the main thoroughfare that the usual Starfleet chatter faded into a comfortable background hum. He’d claimed a small table near the railing, a cool drink sweating beside his elbow as he watched the ebb and flow of locals wandering the waterfront.
He wasn’t paying much attention to the crowd until someone’s shadow drifted across his table. When he glanced up, he found himself looking at a Bolian woman with a warm, curious expression and a tray balanced effortlessly in one hand. Her skin had the deep cobalt sheen of someone who spent plenty of time outdoors, and her eyes held that easy confidence of a person who knew exactly where they belonged.
Leaving after taking his order, Jackson allowed his stare to gaze out over the open area in front of him. The sky was gloomy, but it looked as though it would hold out long enough for Jackson to get a chance to enjoy the morning.
Gnai: Response
Looking up, Jackson could see Lieutenant Gnai. At least, he assumed it was. Jackson did not know any other Galdoran and wondered how different they might look beyond their robotic vessels.
Tanner: Morning Lieutenant!
Gnai: Response
Tanner: How have you been enjoying shore leave so far?
As if in response to the question, Jackson felt the breeze change and wave over him. The cool change was pleasant and rewarding.
