((Planetside, Unknown Planet))
The team had a few days of hardship ahead of them. They had no idea where the rest of the Eagle crew had gone, had to be prepared at any moment for the dinosaurs to return and try to eat them for lunch, and had neither shelter nor sufficient supplies.
As a doctor, Elor tried above all to ration the medical supplies.
Letek: Maybe we should risk taking a little longer to reach our destination and only dispense the medication in emergencies. Once our supplies are empty, we probably won't get any more for the time being.
Williams: If they can handle it.. it would be best to lower the medicine. We could be stuck here for a while…
Kettick: Any chances of treating them beyond managing their pain?
Letek shook his head.
Letek: Without the necessary equipment, we can't treat them properly. We could possibly resort to old methods and make a splint for a broken leg or close a wound with a needle and thread... but it would all be very rudimentary.
Williams: That is something I can help you with doc. In my survival training we practiced that a lot. If we find some trees I know how to craft all kinds of helpful instruments.
The Remmilian nodded sagely. He could help with that as well.
It was good that Elor could count on the support of the others in this case. He had also learned these techniques at the academy, but since they were very antiquated and there was generally no need for this type of historical medicine, he only had theoretical knowledge of their application. He lacked practical experience.
Thalor: Response?
Williams: Well… living in the outdoors is a bit of a hobby. So yes, perhaps I am a little excited about spending a few nights here. But rest assured, I wont be disappointed if a transporter beam grabs us now, and takes us back to the ship. Aren’t you a little excited about exploring this kind of life for a few days?
Kettick looked at the Security chief, tilted his head sideways, then shrugged.
Letek: Not in the slightest. But it's good that you're so highly motivated. Maybe Mister Kettick could promote you to morale officer. Because besides supplies for the next few days, morale is probably what we're lacking most here.
Thalor: Response?
Williams: Well, I don’t want to brag, but I have enough experience for all of you. I did this a lot with my father. We spent weeks in the winters of Alaska, 30 degrees freezing. Nothing but our primitive weapons and our bare skin.
If Elor hadn't gotten to know the security chief a little better, he would surely have looked at him in disbelief. How could anyone voluntarily do such a thing? But in the current situation, his survival skills were certainly extremely useful.
Kettick: That is good. We can benefit a lot from your expertise. Let's go before another space debris shower hits.
And so the group began their march with the main goal of finding shelter for the night, not to mention supplies. Everyone knew that the next few days would be quite an ordeal.
