((Makeshift Triage Centre, The USS Eagle Outpost))
Thalor: I started only as a general surgeon. I only became the Chief Medical Officer because my predecessor was incapacitated when the anomaly appeared.
Far, far earlier than he could have ever expected given how healthy his predecessor had been and how strongly the man had clung to his position, like he would die if he did not stay CMO. Ironically that ended up coming true; he’d passed on less than a standard hour after he’d been relieved of his position and Severan had been promoted.
Adea: Ah, so no real time to enjoy it then.
He scoffed.
Thalor: No.
It had been thrown into his lap in one of the worst possible ways. The only way it could have been worse would have been if they had lost his predecessor to the Borg.
Adea: When we get back, we’ll make sure you get to savour it.
Thalor: To be honest, after all this I am not sure if I will want to stay.
Adea: Response
Thalor: Mmm. Bad memories, bad experiences... no faith in the station’s leadership.
For all his Goddess dictated that his people were to improve themselves and ascend beyond what the current boundaries of being an Eccian El Aurian, she did not look kindly upon those whose research put their people in peril. Especially after the borg when there were so few of them left free.
He had ignored the goings on aboard the station because he had hoped what they were working on would be for the improvement of their people. Only instead it had lead to the deaths of many of those same people.
Adea: Response
Thalor: They did not tell us you know.... What they were researching aboard Proust Station.
If their research had triggered the abnormality to wreak havoc upon the station he would not be surprised one bit.
Adea: Response
