Genkos suppressed a smile - he had also experienced several Genesis-like events in recent years. One could make an argument that two of the events were more like the same event twice (the destruction of the Resolution, and then a visitation to the planet created by said destruction). So it was only natural to want to prepare for that eventuality.
Adea: ~ And you’re settling in okay? ~
Genkos could detect a hesitancy in the Galadoran, but he wasn’t going to push it if it didn’t feel comfortable opening up at this venture. Genkos could tell that the dynamic had shifted between them - although Genkos had always been Gnai’s superior in terms of rank, he had never been it’s direct superior - but now he was the Captain, Genkos was everyone’s direct superior… if you looked hard enough.
Gnai: ~ Yes, yes, more or less fine. ~
Adea: ~ I see… ~
He trailed off, his eyes twinkling black as he gave Gnai room to give more if it felt appropriate.
Gnai: ~ It’s just… less chaotic in here, compared to the rest of the ship. After a mission, I ::singular:: need a moment away from everything. ~
Genkos looked at the tank containing his friend for a moment, and interlaced his hands across his stomach.
Adea: ~ Understandable… we all need our little things to ground us. When I was a CMO, I would take time out to practice little operations, you know, just to keep my hand in. ~
Gnai: ~ Response ~
Adea: ~ Science for science’s sake is a cornerstone of Starfleet… and also evil geniuses in comic books. ~
