((Briefing Lean-To, The USS Eagle Outpost))
Another idea occurred to her.
Lim: If there’s another hoversled maybe we could use it, just in case whoever it is can’t walk..
Williams: Good thinking, Lim. Check with the medical team what they can spare. Alright, take what you need to get ready. I want to get moving in 5 minutes.
ch’Clex: Yes Commander
Plan in place Noemi headed off towards where they had been storing the not in use medical supplies, most of which were basic first aid supplies that hadn’t been needed once everyone had their minor wounds from escaping the station and ship fixed.
She entered the closed off room and was greeted by a happy chirp. Mue lounged on one of the towers of stacked crates like it was a makeshift throne. The meicora had jumped aboard one of the Eagle’s escape pods and arrived with a group of her shipmates to their new home base a few hours before she and her group had straggled in. Noemi had been ecstatic to see him; she’d known he was alive due to their bond but it made it clear exactly how close she’d just come to losing him forever.
Now the meicora was earning his keep like the ship cats of old, keeping pests and vermin away from their scavenged supplies.
Mue: ~Happy~
Lim: It’s good to see you too.
She reached up and scratched the underside of his chin before turning her attention to the supply crates she was certain held the supplies she was looking for. Digging around in the crate she pulled out one of the not disassembled basic medical kits. Pulling it out she began to go through it to make sure it actually was a complete kit.
Mue: ~Away?~
Lim: Mmmm. We’ve picked up a distress signal. Hopefully it’s the missing crew.
She closed the kit, satisfied it contained what she needed, and began putting the supply crate back in order.
Mue: ~Stay safe?~
She stood and smiled at him before reaching out and petting his forehead, enjoying the thrum along their bond for a moment.
Lim: Always.
With one last pat she grabbed the kit and headed back to where her group was meeting back up with their gear.
ch’Clex: Got all you need there Lieutenant?
Lim: Hopefully.
Williams: Response
Drex: For now. Should be enough to find them, and let them know we’re coming. And please don’t break it, I won’t be able to fix it.
ch’Clex: ::Looking at Commander Williams.::Commander we are armed and ready. Ready to move out.
Drex: The signal will get clearer as we approach. At the moment, I can only give a rough direction. ::He raised his left hand, holding the tricorder:: Second dune to the right, and straight on till morning.
Noemi giggled.
Lim: And no need for fairy dust.
Williams / ch’Clex : Response
Without further delay they began moving towards their destination.
Drex: If the temperature keeps rising like this, we’ll have to be careful with exertion and water. How many bottles do we have in total?
Lim: I’ve got two in my pack.
Williams / ch’Clex : Response
Drex: Commander, we might want to consider traveling at night if the weather turns against us.
She peered at the sky and tried to figure out how long it would take for the sun to set based on its position in the sky.
Lim: That would increase the risk of animal attack wouldn’t it?
She had certainly noticed an uptick in animal noises after the sun set.
Williams / ch’Clex / Drex : Response
Lim: Well let me know if any of you get a headache or start to feel nauseous or dizzy.
Heat exhaustion was no joke in general but it would be especially bad out here.
Williams / ch’Clex / Drex : Response
She squinted into the distance.
Lim: Mirage water or actual water?
Williams / ch’Clex / Drex : Response
