((Makeshift Captain’s Office, The USS Eagle Outpost))
Buccheri: Anything we're not allowed to do in the context of uh, "distracting" museum staff, sir...?
Williams: We could simply set off a fire alarm, if they have any. Or try to steal something as far from the Bounty as possible. A sit-in, the options are almost limitless.
Buccheri found himself momentarily worried that the captain had frowned then looked at him and almost smiled. His mouth hovered open as he began to form a haphazard reply, only for the captain to speak first.
Adea: Ensign, what are you thinking of, I have to know…
Buccheri: In line with what my instructors said, sir - that is, keep it simple, stupid - I'd just punch the most important looking guy in the face then run. And maybe punch a few more other guys to make sure they're all looking for lil ol' me, sir.
oO I'm pretty they meant me when they said 'stupid', though. Oo
The frown is stifled before it can appear on his face. It was a dumb idea, anyways.
Williams: If I were to oversee security, I would hate to have more than one crisis at a time. As I would have to spread my forces while keeping an eye open for a potential third crisis, which is the real one. So the more chaos we create, the further spread their attention will be.
The Captain nodded. The ensign agreed silently - the more the merrier, or something to that effect. Any deeper tactical or strategic merit this had was lost on the ensign, who was still reeling from what he thought was a silly name.
Adea: A sit-in is not a bad idea - protest something kept at the museum. Everyone from the Eagle that isn’t on one of our other teams is at our disposal, so we can assign a good few people to doing that.
Williams: A fire, that would get a lot of attention. We can see how fast they respond and how.
Buccheri didn't offer any input; his superiors were speaking, so he simply nodded along. Both suggestions were fine; he would find a way to ensure success, as he always would have.
Williams: In fact, we could postpone our break-in for one more day. Giving us one day to explore the place better and create a small distraction. All to learn how they will respond. Giving us more intel to work with for the real thing.
The Captain shook his head. A slightly raised brow from the ensign since he had mostly agreed with preparing something before doing such a high-risk operation.
Adea: We don’t have that kind of time. Once we’re on the museum, we will literally have minutes before the rest of the teams spring into action. I want to be a distraction from the word go. I also don’t want us to do any permanent damage to the collection - we might be going back to when we came from, but I still want to leave this place in one piece.
Buccheri: So no smashing art and whatever the heck passes for art out here, sir. :: A momentary frown crossed his face :: That takes some of the easier things to do off the list then, sir.
Again, he spoke up, albeit with some more agency now that he was out of his stupor.
Buccheri: Commander Williams might be onto something, after all, sir. Distraction doesn't have to be anywhere near the museum if we don't wanna turn anything into ash. Could literally smoke out the museum with a fire from somewhere else, sir.
Williams: Response?
A little uncomfortable with conversing with senior officers - including his commanding officer - the ensign found himself constantly eyeing something else in the room. Occasionally, his eyes would drift to the captain's PADD, quickly shifting away upon noticing the captain's expressions.
Adea: We want eyes on us, so other ideas like sit-ins are gratefully acknowledged. I was also thinking we could offer to buy various bits and bobs in the museum - that might rile up the staff a bit.
Buccheri: More than likely, sir, that'd just get us laughed at. :: He mused to himself :: Unless we really look like we could afford it, sir.
He paused, pursing his lips. An impish grin formed on his face as a thought passed over him.
Buccheri: What about defacing some of the pieces, sir? Does that count as "permanent damage"? If I made a spectacle of it, it'd probably draw a lotta attention, sir.
Williams / Adea: Response
Buccheri: Either way, I'll defer to you and the commander, sir. :: He offered another grin, this time directed to the commander :: Good ensigns follow orders. Even if they gotta be a little naughty sometimes, ma'am.
Williams / Adea: Response
Ensign August Buccheri
