((Temporary Offices, Deck 118, Deep Space 224))

Genkos shuffled trying to fit into the uncomfortable chair they’d found for him. He guessed that being a commanding officer only really counted if you had a vessel to be the commanding officer of. He stared at the new arrival to his office - it was Karen Stendhal, a beloved counsellor among the Eagle crew, and she had had a short, although in hindsight well timed, leave of absence. She ran a hand over the smoothed armrest of her own seat.

Adea: Welcome back, Lieutenant. It’s nice to see you. Your timing could not be better.

Stendhal: ::Smiling:: Thank you Captain. Is nice to see you too.

Genkos inclined his head to her, conceding the point, but there was a brief ghost of a frown on his face.

Adea: It is a shame it’s not under better circumstances.

Karen was matter-of-fact in her response, which Genkos appreciated.

Stendhal: Will a new ship arrive?

Genkos’ hands extended outwards, his palms upwards in a gesture of “no idea”.

Adea: I’m not really sure; we’re hoping in the new year.

Stendhal: I will miss the USS Eagle and her new vintage feeling.

Genkos nodded at that - he too would miss the Eagle. He had been aboard for only six months, and three of those were in another time, but the ship had felt a little like home. But then so had the makeshift camp on the mystery desert planet they’d lived on in the future. Maybe he was just really good at settling.

Adea: I think we all will, but I am sure we’ll all get used to the next ship we serve on, whatever it ends up being called.

Stendhal: Response

Genkos pushed an errant curl behind his ear as he leaned forward to rest his forearms on the desk in front of him.

Adea: Now, I think we’re going to need a lot of adjustment - the crew have been through a long and traumatic set of experiences with CloQ, and you’re the only counsellor we have who wasn’t there. So I will be relying on you for honest feedback about the psychological make-up of our crew.

Stendhal: Response

Commander Genkos Adea MD

Commanding Officer

USS Eagle

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
