((Cellar, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alomia))
Tomas raised his hands showing a tricorder in one and an Alomian weapon held in the other.
Falt: Me? I'm going to keep watch and try to get our phasers working. Questions?
Captain Adea gestured with his thumb towards Braya.
Adea: Only for her do I have questions.
Tomas nodded and then followed Lieutenant's Tanner and Letek towards the exit. As the two of them headed for the control room Tomas took up station in the doorway, a position which gave him an excellent view in most directions. It also meant he was close enough
to hear Adea and Braya's conversation.
Adea: How are you feeling, Lieutenant?
Braya: ::Stammering momentarily:: M-me, Sir? I…
There was a brief pause as the Lieutenant appeared to think..
Braya: ::Assured:: Sir. I got another round or two in me yet.
Tomas didn't doubt that for a second. He focused on trying to make his phaser work as the conversation continued.
Epoma: Response
Adea: I see… and what in the four hells is going on?!
Braya: ::Rapidly:: Right. Sir. Tryin’ t’beam ya’ out caught us a Disciple ‘stead o’ you. E’s aboard Eagle now. In custody. Kettick’s team came back from the moon, but’s it’s all afoul with some terraformin’ device gone mad, spewing comms traffic ‘bout it all
belongin’ to the “Collectors”. Williams’ team ain’t been ‘eard from, least since we left t’come get yerself an’ the rest o’ them ‘ostages. There’s a shield up that we gotta' bring down b’fore we can all beam back.
From his vantage point in the doorway Tomas glanced over at Adea.
Falt: That's the shield I sent Tanner and Letek to deal with.
Epoma: Response
Braya: Oh. An’ a shuttle from a Sect or Seth or somethin’. They tried gettin’ t’the moon. We stopped ‘em. C’mander Drex was bringin’ it aboard just as we left.
Tomas was making progress with the phasers. He'd been able to confirm the frequency of the dampening field that was preventing them from firing, and he was just about to attempt to disrupt it with his tricorder when his readings suddenly changed. He had just
Initiating a new scan to try and find out why when he saw Lieutenant's Tanner and Letek returning
Letek: Tanner has deactivated the shield. We can finally leave.
Adea / Epoma(?): Response.
Tomas looked down as his tricorder beeped to tell him the scan was complete. He quickly checked the results.
Falt: It looks like whatever you did took down the dampening field that was stopping our phasers working.
Tanner: ::Looking at his tricorder.:: We are good to go.
Before Tomas could respond he saw Lieutenant Braya raise a hand to the ear she wore her listening device on. She looked concerned by what she was hearing and moments later as the ceiling shook from nearby explosions Tomas new why.
Braya: ::Breathless:: Captain. That’s local law breachin’ the buildin’. An’ they ain’t gonna be ‘appy t’see any o’ us.
Even with their phasers now working Tomas didn't fancy their chances against the entire Alomian security force. A sentiment Lieutenant Tanner obviously shared.
Tanner: =/\= Tanner to the Eagle =/\=
Tomas felt his adrenaline spike as he realised the Eagle wasn't responding to Tanner's hail.
oO Now what? Oo
Letek: I'm afraid we're about to have company.
He could hear the sounds of approaching company too. He decided to try repeating the hail.
Falt: =/\= Falt to Eagle. We've found the Captain. Situation hostile. Immediate beam out required. =/\=
He paused to listen for a reply, but the line remained concerningly quiet.
Adea / Epoma(?) / Braya: Response.
Tanner: We are most definitely out of time.
At last his commbadge came to life as the Eagle responded
Transporter Chief: =/\= Standby Commander, we'll have you all out of there in a moment. =/\=
Falt: =/\= Quick as you can, Eagle. We're about to have more company. =/\=
Adea / Epoma(?) / Braya: Response.
The sounds of footsteps and gunfire reached his ears. Clearly there was now more than one faction in the building. Despite Braya's statement local security wouldn't be happy to see them he'd certainly prefer them over the Disciples. However, without any way
of knowing who was going to win the firefight he trained his phaser on the access door, ready to shoot whomever came through.
He tensed as the steps grew closer, but just as it sounded like they were right outside then door he felt the blue lit tingle of a transport in progress...
