((Science Lab 17, Deck Eight, USS Eagle-A))

It was nice to finally see someone after… well, Gnai wasn’t certain how many hours it had been ensconced in the lab, alone (somewhat deliberately, albeit that desire had been wearing thin as the hours wore on).

Adea: ~ So, what are you doing here? ~

Gnai bobbed in its tank a bit, leaning back from where it had been looking into one of the microscopes. The lab did look somewhat… messy, it must admit. Even if someone else had wanted to come in and join, they’d have been hard-pressed to find ample space for their own work.

Gnai: ~ I ::singular:: was just running a few experiments. There wasn’t time to do so before Ondo, when I ::singular:: was supposed to be settling in… ~

Adea: ~ Apologies for disturbing your work. So, you’re resuming previous work? ~

Gnai: ~ Yes, picking up where I ::singular:: left off on the Artemis. Nothing too exciting, just some unanswered questions from the past… ~

Hopefully nothing that it had brought aboard was going to be of concern to Captain Adea… it did see him raise an eyebrow (one of those strange humanoid motions that seemed nearly universal, at least for those with facial hair), but otherwise he didn’t seem to be too worried.

Adea: ~ A good use of your time. ~

Gnai: ~ It seemed somewhat… sensible to brush up on botany a tad. Especially with how many Genesis-like events I ::singular:: have experienced so far. ~

Adea: ~ If I had a bar of gold-pressed latinum for every event… I’d have two bars. Not a lot, but it is weird to experience quite so many. ~

It bobbed in its tank, agreeing. To have two events was far more than anyone would want or expect in a lifetime.

Gnai: ~ Agreed! Hopefully there won’t be any more… ~

Adea: ~ And you’re settling in okay? ~

That was a question that Gnai wasn’t exactly sure how to answer. It wasn’t that it wasn’t settling in fine… but it felt awkward still amongst the rest of the crew at times. New people, new places… it probably would have been like this aboard the Kitty Hawk as well when it was posted there if there weren’t already far more pressing issues as it came aboard.

Gnai: ~ Yes, yes, more or less fine. ~

Adea: ~ Response ~

Gnai: ~ It’s just… less chaotic in here, compared to the rest of the ship. After a mission, I ::singular:: need a moment away from everything. ~

It was far easier to adjust in a more controlled version of this new setting, Gnai had been noticing, with less needing to deal with questions about itself or its time aboard other ships.

Adea: ~ Response ~
