((Federation Headquarters Ballroom, Bolarus IX))
Tholin let his gaze move once more across the ballroom. The floral display of the Eagle-A now stood proudly in place, framed by the soft lighting and the elegant Bolian architecture. It had been arranged with care.
ch’Clex: You have arranged this well, Captain.
Adea: That’s very kind of you to say.
Tholin looked toward the arriving guests. Some were already speaking with one another. Others had only just beamed in and were taking in the room much as he had done upon arrival.
ch’Clex: I believe everyone will appreciate this evening.
Adea: Perhaps not everyone.
Tholin turned his attention back to him.
ch’Clex: They will, Captain. Whether they choose to admit it or not is another matter.
Adea: Still, we should try and enjoy ourselves. Have you had much of a chance to check out Bolarus?
Tholin’s antennae lifted slightly.
ch’Clex: Some. I had time to do a little exploring earlier. I found a Flabbjellah in one of the markets.
He reached carefully beneath the fall of his ceremonial coat and drew out a slender instrument of dark blue-grey metal, its surface worked with fine Andorian patterns along the length. At first glance it might have passed for an ornate flute, though the reinforced lower section and the subtle grip built into its form suggested another purpose.
Adea: Response?
ch’Clex: It required some tuning, but nothing I could not handle. You do not need to worry Captain the sidearm is deactivated.
He held it up so Adea could see it more clearly.
Adea: Response?
ch’Clex: A Flabbjellah is a traditional Andorian sidearm. It is also a musical instrument most closely comparable to a flute.
His tone remained composed, though there was a faint note of pride beneath it. The object was old-fashioned by modern standards, but it was unmistakably Andorian.
ch’Clex: I will gladly show you how to play it, if you would like Captain?
Adea / Anyone: Response?
