((Fuel Line Corridor, Deck 496 Aft | Igirni))
Tanner was about to ask a follow up question when a wave of vibration came through the ship. It wasn’t so much destructive as it was rhythmic. The black hole didn’t just suck everything in. Often they emitted a whole range of damaging waves and distortions just to complicate things.
Tanner: ::Flicking around the group.:: Byproduct of our proximity ?
Frinn: Don’t look at me… This is nothing new. Could be many things…
Lim: Maybe they're trying out something with the engines?
Falt : Response
Frinn: Perhaps I should hand you over to one of our more experienced people.
Tanner: That’s ok, mostly just curious.
It wasn’t really ok, but Jackson figured they weren’t here to solve everything so there was no real harm assuming the Eagle and the Bridge of the Igirni were all over whatever was happening outside.
Falt : Response
Frinn: Looks like the big shots are at the main levels, no doubt having one of their fancy meetings… So you are stuck with me for now. Feel free to have a look around, but again… don’t touch anything without asking.
Lim: ::Smiling:: Don’t worry, we won’t.
Braya: ::Clasping her wrist behind her back:: No touchin’. No problem.
Falt / Frinn : Response
Lim: How many people work down here?
Braya: Not near enough, by the looks o’ it. No offense, maintenance man. Just seems y’all could use more ‘ands down ‘ere.
The words were calculated. Meant to draw out Frinn’s antipathy toward his working conditions, if only slightly. Each measured step might bring her a little closer to validating her suspicions. While Frinn may not be directly involved in what happened, she had growing reason to believe his feelings might lead them to something important.
Falt / Frinn : Response
Lim: Do you all live nearby or do you have to commute to the area?
Was a fair question if not a little odd. The ship was, from a pure length perspective, massive. But of course, there was more than one dimension.
Falt / Frinn : Response
Braya: Sounds downright irritatin’. An’ no doctors down ‘ere, neither? Seems dangerous work, to ‘ave no medical on standby.
Another fair point. Jackson waited patiently as they got their bearings.
Lim / Falt / Frinn : Response
Braya: Them upstairs keepin’ ya’ out o’ the loop regardin’ this black ‘ole business. That normal ‘round ‘ere? Everythin’ …privileged?
Tanner: Order and structure isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Playing the devil's advocate card and stopping off by pointing out that Braya also operated in the same hierarchical structure of Starfleet. Junior officers did not, and did not need to know everything.
Lim / Falt / -Frinn : Response
Braya: ::Softer:: Just sounds t'me like some Voth 'round 'ere are...a little more equal than others.
Casting a glance at the Commander indicating he’d leave the response to this one, to him. They weren’t here to decide if their society was good or bad or pass judgement on it. They were here to see if they could help and if they could work out what had happened.
Lim / Falt / Frinn : Response
Tanner: Is there anyone that could be more helpful ?
oO Or is the lack of help the point exactly?
Braya / Lim / Falt / Frinn : Response
Tanner: Commander I can’t see anyway we can help in this area. ::Glancing around pointedly.:: Should we continue further in?
Braya / Lim / Falt / Frinn : Response
Tanner: ::Looking up further ahead at some marks on the wall.:: You sure we can’t touch anything?
Braya / Lim / Falt / Frinn : Response
