((Power Chamber 2, Deck 742-Beta, Voth Generation Ship Igirni))

All Nemi could remember was a series of bright flashes and the feeling of his body getting thrown into the nearby counter. Then suddenly, his world went dark.

ch’Clex: First firefight?

Carvalho: First one outside the holodeck, sir. I hope I'm ready.

ch’Clex: Don’t worry. Just remember your training, follow me and the Captain, and you will be fine.

Adea: ::muttering:: Maybe don’t follow me.

Flashes of light flew through Roktan’s “vision” as he lay on the ground. Muffled shouting echoed through his mindscape, as if he was watching the events of the recent past through an opaque window

Carvalho: Aye, sir. ::he turns to Adea:: Permission to take point, Captain? It's standard protocol. Stay behind me.

Adea: Good idea, Ensign. Any ideas what could be happening? Happy for you to speculate.

ch’Clex: Internal conflict is the most likely answer if our scans are correct and there are only Voth life signs ahead.

Carvalho: A mutiny wouldn't be unusual in a situation like this. The Voth have been on edge since we got here; it only takes one spark to start a fight for control of the ship. ::he takes a deep breath:: We’ll find out soon enough if we're dealing with internal sabotage. If possible, I'd like to pull the security logs once we've secured the area.

ch’Clex: Good assessment, Ensign.

Adea: It’s quiet… Where did they go?

Carvalho: Response?

ch’Clex: They were just up ahead, Captain.

Slowly starting to wake, he began to hear voices that were muffled by the ringing in his head. Despite this, he could tell these were not like the Voth he had been speaking to earlier, these must belong to Starfleet personnel!

Adea: Get down there - I want to know if there are survivors, and what happened here.

Carvalho: Response?

ch’Clex: Understood. Carvalho, with me. Keep your phaser ready. We do not know if the shooters are still nearby.

ch’Clex: This one is dead.

The injured ensign attempted to call out to the voices, but only managed a small groan as his body was still fighting to wake up.

ch’Clex: Severe trauma. No lifesign.

Carvalho: Response?

Adea: Ensign Roktan, I presume?

Feeling a hand on his back prop him up, Nemi slowly opened his eyes and looked around as he tried to gather his bearings. Last he could remember he was at his station. Now he was on the floor? How did he get down here? His train of thought was cut off as the various bumps, cuts, and bruises he had acquired made their presence known all at once. The Bajoran nodded with a wince as he heard his name.

Roktan: Yes…thank you Sir.

Adea: Carvalho, ch’Clex! I found one of ours. ::turning to Roktan:: Right, let’s get you on your feet.

Carvalho: Response.

ch’Clex: Ensign Roktan, Lieutenant ch’Clex. You are safe for the moment.

Nemi gently comes to his feet with Adea’s assistance. Once up he leans on the nearby counter until he feels like he can trust his legs to not collapse under him. Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Nemi attempts to straighten up. He rubs his head before looking towards his rescuers.

oO I hope this cursed ringing stops soon… Oo

ch’Clex: Do you know what happened here? Who opened fire?

Rokton: I’m not sure… There was a commotion, then all I remember from there is bright flashes and waking up to you all.

His eyes widen as he finally realizes that it’s his Captain standing in front of him and attempts to straighten out his uniform but the effort causes him to wobble and place a hand back down on the counter next to him.

oO Not exactly the first impression I wanted to make…but it could’ve been worse Oo

Adea / Carvalho: Response

ch’Clex: Take it slowly. Anything you remember may help us.

The ensign frowns as he looks over the Voth and Starfleet bodies around him.

oO How close was I to being one of them? What if I had wandered into a different part of the deck? Oo

He furrows his brow and closes his eyes as he attempts to pull anything useful from before his incapacitation. His thoughts jump from one place to another, before landing on something that might actually help.

Roktan: There’s a voice I remember…it was deeper than the others. I can’t make out exactly what they were saying but it was definitely from whoever started shooting first.

Adea / Carvalho:

The Bajoran shakes his head and bows it slightly before looking up at the group.

Roktan: I’m sorry, that’s really all I can remember at the moment. Hopefully something more helpful will come to me soon.

Adea / Carvalho / ch’Chex: Response

Roktan pushes off from the counter, taking a moment to gently bend all of his limbs to make sure they were all attached and working. His face turns into a grimace for a moment.

Roktan: What’s going on? We hadn’t received any new warnings before everything went off the deep end down here.

Adea / Carvalho / ch’Chex: Response

Nemi drops a hand to his hip and feels the empty pouch where his tricorder was just moments ago. Or was it hours? Time had seemed to lose meaning while he was out. Looking over to his workplace, he saw the scanner on the floor. It seems like it had fared far worse than he, with multiple parts either broken or missing The Bajoran let out a sigh as he took another breath and picked up what he could salvage.

Roktan: I should be good to move now. I’ll help in what ways I can.

With a last look, his eyes lingered on the body of Lieutenant Spalding. He hadn't known him long but that didn't make it easier to cope with the death of a fellow officer. After a pause he moves to rejoin the others.

Adea / Carvalho / ch’Chex: Response
