((Starfleet Officers Lounge, Bokitu City, Bolarus IX))

The Captain thought back to the transfers he’d made, including the most recent one to the Eagle. He had been hesitant, nervous, full of energy, but then he’d also known he was coming “home” to where Kalianna was. She had since been moved on by Starfleet, which he understood was part of the job. Looking back at Avariswal, he wanted to make her more comfortable aboard his ship.

Adea: Do you have any questions about us, the Eagle or our region? I’m sure you’ve read all the files, but there’s nothing compared to the real thing.

Avariswal: I did see a lot of files. I have read those marked as “important.” But to be honest, I haven’t caught up fully on everything. Is there something vital that I should know? Anything that might not be on record?

Genkos frowned, cocking his head to one side for a moment.

Adea: Not off the top of my head, why is there something you’re worried about?

Avariswal: Worried? Well, that’s a good one. I think worried is a bit overstated, but I have to admit I was intrigued to read about your experience with a Q. I believe that makes you quite unique. Not many ships or captains have encountered them. And I wonder, in a way, what that was like. Must have been a real challenge?

Genkos ran a tongue over his teeth. He’d had run-ins with two separate members of the Continuum, and multiple encounters with CloQ, the worst of the two. She was right, technically those encounters were rare. He was just lucky, he guessed.

Adea: It was, frankly, as close to the four hells as I have any desire to get to.

Avariswal: I have to admit there is a part of me that wishes I was there. For the experience, but based on what I’ve read, I guess I am lucky I didn’t have to spend weeks in a desert world, hoping for a way back.

Genkos tried not to grind his teeth at that - she was the one who brought up that it was challenging, and then after his description, she seemed disappointed she hadn’t been there. His mouth became a very thin line as he looked at her sternly.

Adea: Stay aboard long enough, I am certain CloQ will return. They’re like the human proverbial bad coin - they keep turning up.

Avariswal: Response

Genkos tried to relax, knowing that the woman had meant no offense earlier, and that it was merely the after effects of his own emotional “attachment” to the incidents surrounding CloQ and their time-travelling shenanigans.

Adea: I’ve encountered them aboard three separate vessels - they seem to have a particular fascination with myself, Addison and Kalianna - I have a sneaking suspicion we were a particular irritant to them on the Resolution, and they’ve made it their business to continue to be so back to us.

Avariswal: Response

Captain Genkos Adea MD

Commanding Officer

USS Eagle-A

G239502GS0

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
