Lt Noemi Lim - Different kinds of fire

The two of them made their way over to the very decorated tables and Noemi noted there wasn’t a set seating arrangement.

Lim: That would be nice. Maybe we’ll be lucky and we’ll know how bad the mission’s going to be at the start. 

She doubted that would ever happen without major changes. Since their ship's posting was to unexplored space they wouldn't be sent on those kinds of missions even if Starfleet wanted them to be informed. Maybe she should just start assuming that things will get or be worse than they appeared and save herself some time.

Tanner: ::Looking over at Tholin.:: I’d settle for one where we don’t get terribly injured also. 

She sighed and also looked over at Tholin.

Lim: Yeah, that would be nice.

Or at least only easy, completely fixable injuries like scrapes or cuts.

Tanner: I haven’t had a chance to speak with him.  How is he going?

Noemi pulled her attention from Tholin and turned it back to her conversation companion.

Lim: Overall well. He’s recovered well and soon he shouldn’t notice any difference.

Tanner: Yeah I bet, and I’m glad to hear he’s taking it ok.  

Lim: Me too. ::She sighed::  It was not fun and I’m glad we’re on the other side of it all.

She grabbed a glass of something fizzy off the tray of a nearby waiter and took a sip. Her face scrunched in displeasure as the burning of alcohol hit her tongue underneath the fruity sweetness. She managed to swallow without spitting or coughing it out and set the glass down on the 

Tanner: Response

She spotted a tray of glasses filled with a still clear liquid. Cautiously she sniffed the glass and when she didn’t smell anything, took several long sips.

Lim: Too alcoholic. Don’t like it.

Tanner: Response

Lim: It tastes like burning to me, and not the tasty kind like cinnamon candies or chili dipping powder.

Admittedly she didn’t find cinnamon candies or most standard chili spices hot at all having grown up eating it regularly. She’d have to go up thai chilis before she’d start noticing any heat.
