((Makeshift Captain’s Office, The USS Eagle Outpost, ABOUT A WEEK LATER))

Buccheri had not been entirely sure what was going on - he had heard of the general gist of things; that they were to leave soon. Owing to his light duties, he had found himself mostly accompanying random crew members in the past week, if not finding some reason to dodge work and simply laze about when able. Even the dull pain of having his ribs broken then rearranged and set near instantly had gone away since. So he was left with his boredom and anxiety. Something the newly assigned ensign was starting to understand about Starfleet - hurry up and wait was the name of the game.

He had started getting butterflies in his stomach when he'd gotten the notice and was promptly gathered by the commander.

Commander Williams and Ensign Buccheri appeared in his makeshift office. He gestured for them to take a seat on the stools that were poor substitutes for the comfy chairs of the Eagle. He had handed them PADDs with their part of the plan.

The ensign obliged on both counts, deferring to the commander for the greetings and whatnot since she held the higher rank. He assumed himself as something akin to a tag-along, or at least that was what he'd learned from the academy.

Adea: You two will be part of Operation: Fancypants. We are to distract and divert the museum’s staff so that they don’t notice any of the other teams. We are to be as annoying and frustrating as we possibly can, to keep their attention on us. Touch things, ask ridiculous questions, generally be the most irritating you that you can be.

oO Operation whaaaa...? Oo

Buccheri had expected something else from their captain, whom he lacked any experience with. Nonetheless, he remained seated, studying the PADD with decreasing interest as he pondered where the operation name came from.
Still confused, the ensign managed to utter something of his usual reply, albeit lackluster and absent-minded.

Buccheri: Can do, sir.

Williams: Response

Adea: Please read nothing into the fact that I called you two to do this. The rest of the senior staff are on other missions, but we’ll be leading as much of the crew as we can get onboard.

Buccheri: No offense taken, sir. I'm a good little ensign.

He managed a humorous smile, despite his head running through what could've led to him being picked for this in particular.

Buccheri: Anything we're not allowed to do in the context of uh, "distracting" museum staff, sir...?

Williams / Adea: Response
