(OOC - Appreciate the patience all; I've recently been attacked by multiple days at once and somehow 24 hours in a day just weren't enough. Going to try to get back on track, but may be a little slower than usual until the end of December.)
((Commodore's Temporary Office, Deck 118, Deep Space 224))
In the days that followed their return from the future, Kali had spent more time than usual just noting the way things were. Everything from the most boring meeting, to a nighttime glass of sapphire wine with Genkos had a new, shiny appeal that only came with
the imminent loss of something cherished. Even the mug of coffee on her desk, with its steam rising slowly into the air in front of her, was something new and worthy of attention.
Her crystalline eyes were lost momentarily in the disappearing cloud drifting upwards when the chime rang. Looking up she called out a welcome.
Nicholotti: Come in.
Kali had died before, and as such, she had always done her best to treat each day as if it were the most precious thing ever. Even so, time had a way of mudding the waters and somethings the mundane simply became background to life. Meetings had a way of being
part of that, but now, with a refreshed view, Kali noted everything. Returning his smile with one of her own, she gestured to the chairs across from her.
Falt: It’s good to see you, Commodore. I like the new office.
Nicholotti: Temporary, I assure you. Fleet Captain Rainier can only stand me for so long. How have you been getting along?
The man took the profferd seat and sipped from a mug of his own before speaking again.
Falt: I’m okay. Aside from being trapped in the future it really was like one big away mission for me. How are you holding up, I gather you had a really rather intense experience with CloQ?
The raven-haired commodore shrugged slightly.
Nicholotti: I've dealt with CloQ before. Honestly they are just an overgrown toddler with a superiority complex. I'm not sure what they have against me, or Commander Adea specifically, but I suspect we will see them again at some point.
After all, it really seemed like they couldn't leave well enough alone.
Falt: Response?
It was Kali's turn to take a sip from her ever cooling mug. The steam was becomming far less pronounced, which was a fact she might not have noticed previously.
Nicholotti: There were vague threats, and statements of reason that made little sense, and of course the 'god' complex. I honestly don't know what they wanted.
Falt: Response?
Sitting back, Kali steepled her fingers and thought for a moment.
Nicholotti: I suspect they will be replacing the Eagle if it doesn't show back up in some time eddy somewhere. With what, I do not know. It's not like there's an overabundance of ships after the Frontier Day mess.
She paused a moment and thought.
Nicholotti: What about the rest of the fleet? What are the reports from the frontier, now that we are talking about it?
Falt: Response?
