Lt Karen Stendhal - Arrival at DS 224

Karen looked around, feeling a bit disoriented. Primarily, she had just returned from a brief LOA (Leave of Absence). Secondly, although she had previously served on a starbase, Starbase 118, the one she was on now, Deep Space 224, was completely different.

There was, however, a curious numerical consonance between the two: 1-1-8 and 2-2-4 a double-double and a half.

She had expected to return to the USS Eagle, but surprise, surprise: it had exploded!

In any case, the crew or at least a good portion of it was now stationed at the base. There were new faces, too: Favon, Buccheri, and Splendenton... no, wait, it was Stapledon! She supposed she was more or less new herself, after all.

First order of business: report to Commander Genkos.

Adea: Please, help yourself.

Stendhal: Hi Captain, thank you!

Karen surveyed the office and chose what looked like the best chair.

She paused for a moment, reflecting on the fact that Genkos was a Captain without a ship, at least for the time being.

A Captain grounded on a base, Karen thought, settling back in the comfortable chair. That means he has nothing to command but us...

She ran a hand over the smooth armrest, wondering if he would expect her to call him "Sir" or "Captain." More importantly, she wondered what his specific orders would be now that the Eagle was just debris.

Adea: Welcome back, Lieutenant. It’s nice to see you. Your timing could not be better.

Stendhal: (Smiling) Thank you Captain.

Is nice to see you too.

Adea: Response.

Stendhal: Will a new ship arrive?

She asked point-blank.

Adea: Response.

Stendhal: I will miss the USS Eagle and her new vintage feeling.

Adea: Response.
