Commander Tomas Falt: You're going to have your work cut out...

Tomas and fellow fashion refugee Gunny Hesan had done their best to enter the party unnoticed. It had been going quite well until he'd seen someone else approaching, a new face. A Denobulan. 

He gave them a smile:

Falt: Hello. I'm Commander Falt. I don't believe we've met?

Avariswal: Hello.

Tomas only knew one other Denobulan, and given Drex's feelings on physical contact he decided not to risk going for a handshake. 

Hesan: Master Gunnery Sergeant Hesan. ::beckoning to the server to come back:: I can recommend whatever this is if you want a drink, sir.

Avariswal: Thank you. ::She nodded at the server and took a glass.::

The Denobulan woman paused to sniff her drink before continuing.

Avariswal: My name is Avariswal. I am the ship’s new diplomatic officer. Pleasure to meet you both.

Tomas saw her extend a hand towards Hesan, who seemed to stare at it for a few long seconds before grasping her hand and shaking it.

Hesan: Good to meet you too.

Realising this Denobulan was not as adverse to physical contact as he'd assumed Tomas extended his own hand towards the Envoy once Hesan had released her.

Falt: You're a diplomat? We'd have certainly benefitted from your expertise on the last mission! It seems a lot of species out here need the more diplomatic touch.

Avariswal: Then I guess we will be working a lot together?

Beside them he saw Hesan shake her head.

Hesan: Not me. I ship out to a new posting tomorrow. I'm only really here today to say goodbye to folks. It's good to meet you regardless 

Avariswal: Response.

Before Tomas could answer he became aware of a raised voice. Curious, he turned to see what was going on just in time to see Lieutenant Braya throw a drink into William's face. Behind him he heard Hesan chuckle.

Falt: ::turning back to Avariswal:: As you can see, we're not all that diplomatic. I think you're going to have your work cut out!

Hesan: Oh, I don't know, sir. If the scuttlebutt's to be believed he probably deserved worse. 

Avariswal: Response.

Tomas quickly realised he did not want to know any more than he already did about whatever had just happened between Braya and Williams. He decided to change the subject.

Falt: ::to Avariswal:: So, have you had chance to meet many of the crew yet?

Avariswal: Response.
