((Makeshift Triage Centre, The USS Eagle Outpost))
And with a nod, he had dismissed his senior staff and let them go on their merry ways. The mission objectives weighed heavy on his conscience - he had sent almost the entirety of his senior staff out of their makeshift encampment, and heavens alone knew how many of them would come back.
Pushing that thought aside, he rolled up his sleeves and limped heavily over to their new makeshift triage centre. He saw Doctor Thalor, who he had put in charge of the medical centre staff until the Eagle’s CMO appeared.
Adea: Doctor Thalor, I am here - where do you need me?
Thalor seemed to jerk out of some kind of stupor, and looked the Captain in the eye. Genkos felt sorry for the doctor, he had to admit; the man wasn’t Starfleet, and here he was, tied up in their insanity.
Thalor: Ah, Commander.
The Doctor looked out at the triage centre, which was smaller than almost any medical centre Genkos had seen, and not because they lacked patients. They lacked equipment.
Thalor: Thankfully things are stable here, though that is only for the moment. There is a little bit of time before I have to make my next round. Your help would be appreciated then.
Genkos smiled softly and nodded at the man. He was pleased to be able to bring something to the table except leadership - his medical skills were eminently useful here. As he remembered Addison saying once, you could take the Captain out of sickbay, but you couldn’t take the sickbay out of the Captain.
Adea: Your wish is my command, Doctor.
Thalor: Have you and your second figured out what we should be doing next?
Genkos nodded again, and looked over at the retreating teams - he could see many were gathering their equipment and setting off already.
Adea: We have; I’ve sent a few teams out to surveil, to retrieve and to plan our own rescue.
Thalor: Supplies are getting low, but we haven’t yet needed to begin rationing them.
Genkos leant on his cane heavily for a moment; he’d already had thoughts about how they were going to go about rationing if they needed to. He knew that despite all of Starfleet’s advances in technology, their civilised natures would evaporate quickly once they no longer had access to basic needs.
Adea: I’d like to keep off rationing for as long as possible.
Thalor: Response
Adea: I’ve sent a team to the Proust - there’s a huge chunk not hugely far from here. With any luck they’ll find a replicator of some kind.
Although how they’d power it was another terrifying question.
Thalor: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
