Qualunque: Oh, I’ve seriously missed this. Though, I have to admit, the Tequila Sunrises over at OPS... wow, those were something else!

Williams: If you are into that, you should consider a career change to science, they often have the best pictures of space. Nice green nebulas included. You can stare at them for hours.

Stapledon:  It's true.

Una lifted the glass, squinting as she studied the Tequila Sunrise. She tilted it back and forth, fascinated by the way the light caught the glass and caused the colors to transform into a different spectrum of oranges and reds, from a different point of view, maybe greeny?

For Una, her Tequila Sunrise wasn't just a cocktail; but a masterpiece of fluid dynamics and a nostalgic tether to her time at Starbase OPS 118.

Qualunque: Wait, why green? My tequila sunrise is, look!
At the base, a thick, heavy layer of grenadine sits in a deep, viscous crimson. As it rises, it bleeds into the bright, acidic yellow of the orange juice, creating a perfect event horizon of fiery oranges and soft corals. The tequila provides a clear, crystalline shimmer throughout, like high-grade dilithium coolant.

Williams: Oh hell no, I am more of a practical man myself. Shoot, build, mend… Complicated theories, not really my cup of tea. Or… sunrise haha..

Una watched the way the density of the syrup keeps it anchored at the bottom, resisting the urge to stir it.

Qualunque: The beauty is in the separation of states. I love the way the condensation beads on the outside of the glass, reflecting the colorful liquid like a nebula captured in a containment field. Beautiful! This one is ok, but...
Nothing like the one at the Brew Continuum in the San Francisco District of Starbase 118 Ops. Ohhh even the glass is not the same, and there's no mini umbrella, no slice of orange or even lemon in this one. ::She was almost sad now.::

Stapledon: Response?

Williams: But… you picked my interest Una. I didn’t know there had secret drinks at Ops? Did you Kimberly?

Stapledon:  Drinks?  No, hadn't thought of that.  I can imagine the job might be stressful though.

She smirked.

Qualunque: Mmm, the Starbase 118 is such a massive entity, you can really get lost in a place like that.
A starship is much better you feel like you can actually make a difference here. It’s just. .. well, back at OPS, there were countless restaurants, bars, and cafes. So yeah, there were always plenty of drinks to choose from.

Williams: Hmmm. Is that something a chief security officer should look into?

Stapledon:  Alcohol and ops, that's an interesting combination.

Una raised her drink like a scientific specimen, peering through the liquid. She was still convinced that the refraction of the glass was responsible for the shifting gradient, changing the sunrise's tones every time she adjusted her grip.

Qualunque: You don't have to get drunk every day, by the way! ::She laughed.:: And yes, there’s a ton of security business to keep an eye on there so many ships coming and going, all sorts of different communities. They definitely need a good security officer on a station like that.

Williams: Bluff huh? Well well…

Williams: ::griming:: Then perhaps we should take this conversation somewhere else?

Stapledon:  I may or may not have played.

She kept it deliberately vague.

Qualunque: ::She looked at the roulette table and back to her colorful drink, her nose wrinkling just a tiny bit.:: Eh... gambling isn't really my favorite sub routine. Too much luck involved and not enough practical engineering for my taste. Especially when the house has ears that big, I'm pretty sure he can hear the ball thinking about where to land.

::She took a small, cautious sip of her Sunrise, then shrugged with a grin.::

Williams/Stapledon: Response

Qualunque: But! If you two are heading over, I’m in. I'll be the designated vibe observer. I’ve always wanted to see if I can calculate the velocity of a losing streak in real time. Besides, somebody has to make sure you don't bet the ship's warp core on a lucky number, right?

Williams/Stapledon: Response
