(Makeshift Captain’s Office, The USS Eagle Outpost, ABOUT A WEEK LATER))
The image of the rotating bird of prey had lived rent free in her mind for the last week as they broke camp and prepared for what was to come. Exactly what that was, however, was yet to be found. Of course, the captain had good ideas, but the universe always did have a way of twisting things, and making the best plans into something of a nightmare.
But now as they sat together in the makeshift captain's office, Cayden prepared herself to face whatever that vindictive universe decided was an acceptable obstacle to put between her and the crew, and home. CloQ may have been holding the Commodore hostage, but they were also holding them all hostage as well, just in a different way.
Adea: Commander Falt… Tomas, you will take ch’Clex and Tanner to the museum’s security complex. Our intelligence suggests the museum’s security is entirely automated, so you’re to go there and turn it off. I doubt it’ll be as easy as there being a big switch saying “off” but hey, we live in hope.
Falt: Response
Hope was a pretty big word those days, but it didn't hurt to hold on to it. As the captain turned his attention, Cayden did as well.
Adea: Commander Kettick, I’m afraid I have the least fun job for you. You’ll be taking Braya, Lim and Drex, and stealing the Bounty. For those of you who don’t know, it’s the ship that James T. Kirk used to go back in time with the crew of the Enterprise. The basic idea here is the same. We need you to go and get her ready to fly, then beam us all into the Bounty’s hold, before taking off.
Kettick: Response
Normally the idea that history repeated itself was not one many people found promising, but here they were all hoping that history did, indeed, repeat. The captain turned to her and she caught his dark eyes.
Adea: That’s where Cayden comes in. Commander Adyr, you’ll be taking Favon and Letek. The Bounty’s cloaking device was transferred to the Enterprise during Frontier Day. I need you to go and get it so that nobody can find us once we’re off the museum. Last thing we need is for any remaining Starfleet ships to stop us.
If there were any, but she left that thought unsaid.
Adyr: Aye, sir. We'll take care of it.
And that was all the attention given.
Adea: As for myself, I’ll be taking Commander Williams and Ensign Buccheri. We’re going to take the entirety of the rest of the crew, and we’re going on a tour of the museum. Station security might be automated, but there’s still a skeleton staff. We’ll keep them busy asking as many questions and queries as we can. ::he half stood:: Right, you have your orders. Assemble your teams, prepare yourselves and we meet at Adyr’s ship at 0800. Sleep well folks, for this is the last night we sleep in the 31st Century. Go, in good faith.
With nothing left to say, the officers filed out into the sandy hell they had come to know as a home, however temporarily. Cayden took a sharp turn and called the two other members of her team over to an overhang that provided shade between two buildings.
Adyr: Ensign Favon, Lieutenant Letek, I hope you are both up on your spy tactics.
It was a bit of humor, perhaps, in a place where they all needed something positive.
Favon/Letek: Response?
Cayden only nodded slightly with the smallest hint of a smile.
Adyr: Lets pack light; we indeed may not be spies or spooks, but it's up to us to make this happen.
Favon/Letek: Responses?
So it was settled then.
Adyr: Any last minute questions before we leave?
Favon/Letek: Response?
