(( Holosuite 19 - Deck 75 - Deep Space 285 ))

:: Ndrassa stood in the middle of the dark room allowing her reptilian eyes to slowly gaze on everything to make sure it was in it's place. The holodeck made it much easier to set up the Kar'echak, the ceremony of the departed and she wanted it to be perfect for her father. The female Gorn adjusted her silken brown and green robes and tightened the Tk'Moong family sash tighter around her waist. She was much smaller than an average Gorn due to males being much bulkier of the species. ::

:: The room had been designed as a semi circle and the walls were lined with trophies and important pieces of memories from her father's life. There was his Vss'Nok sword filled with the diamonds and jewels awarded to him for many acts of bravery. The watch of Captain Jordan Hurne, a man whom Nugra had seen as a close ally and never forgave himself when the terran captain vanished. There were a number of other odds and ends and the final piece was a 5 foot obsidian stone that was cut off at an angle and her family crest carved deeply into it. Holographic torches burned on the wall around her. It was time to open for the Afternoon viewing. ::

:: She turned as the holodeck door hissed open and the first people who her father knew came in. ::

:: As Hannibal and Toni walked in, Hannibal was dressed in his Marine dress greens, sporting every medal and commendation he could wear. On top of that, he wore his Klingon sash bearing his House Of Martok family crest. Some may have considered it gaudy, but Nugra would have appreciated the fact that while the two did not get along, they were both excellent warriors and Marines, with Nugra paying the ultimate price for the safety of his ship and crew. It was Hannibals’ way of honoring that sacrifice and paying his respects to the being to whom each had caused so much trouble in life, he now honored in death::

::Toni and Hannibal were greeted by someone who could only be Nugra's daughter.::

Ndrassa: Welcome, everybody. I’m Ndrassa. I know it would have meant a lot to my father that you are here.

Parker: It was an honor to be invited to the celebration of his homegoing. Nugra was a great warrior, and should be treated as such...

Turner: ::looking around at the semi circular room filled with his trophies and remembrances:: My sincere condolences, Ndrassa. You have paid him great honor with this display of your love for him.

:: Ndrassa had made it a point to learn the starfleet ranks so that when they came, she could show them the proper respect. With her father being over 200 years old, there was a great chance higher ranking people would be present. This proved the case when a woman entered with a marine major that sported two gold boxed pips of a Rear Admiral. ::

Ndrassa: Thank you, Admiral. Major. It is a sad loss and I wish I had known him better. I assume he served with you? I’m not very familiar with his career sadly.

Parker: Yes...he did serve with us at the Embassy in several capacities. He was always diligent in his duties..and a man of honor….

Turner:  Yes, he was, and an excellent First Officer, but at times, I felt he was taking on too much. I was afraid he would eventually suffer from burnout but that was his way. .

:: That made sense. Her father had a long service history filled with many different achievements even commanding a starship in the Federation. How he had time to do it all was a mystery to her. Two more humanoid females entered, one wearing the four pips of a captain and the other of a Lt. Commander. ::

:: The news had hit Jalana pretty hard. Nugra had become a close friend and only weeks ago he had saves her from the claws of the SFI. Even if she hadn’t called him, he was there for her. When the news of his death had been passed to her, guilt began to gnaw in her that she hadn’t been able to do the same for him. She looked to T’Mar, her First Officer and friend. Both of them wearing dress uniforms in honor of Nugra’s service. The Trill was relieved that she didn’t have to go alone. ::

T’Mar: Are you ready?

::T’Mar had only met Nugra twice.. The second time being under rather bizarre circumstances on the Constitution involving SFI. It did turn out well with Jalana being promoted in the end. The first, however, was on an important day in both hers and Sundassa’s careers. They were both promoted and he had been there for Sun. Still, she had known him well enough to know that both Sun and Jalana considered him friend and that was enough for her. There was no way she would allow her closest friend go to his service alone. She knew all too well the pains of losing someone close and she would not let Jalana down. After waiting a moment, she lead the way in for the service. Her dress uniforms were stiff, not often having an occasion to wear them, but there would be no way she would have arrived wearing anything else. Nugra deserved that.::

:: Together they entered and as Jalana’s green eyes wandered over the trophies and landed on the sword, she raised her hand without even thinking and she placed it on the orange gemmed Vss'Kot blade she wore on her belt. She had received it from Nugra when he had promoted her to Captain. Feeling the material on her fingertips her throat closed up. ::

Ndrassa: Captain. Commander. Thank you for coming to my father's Kar'echak.

:: The Trill’s gaze wandered from the displayed blade to the woman in front of her. She had no idea that Nugra had a Gorn daughter. Respectfully, she inclined her head. ::

Rajel: My deepest regret to your father’s passing.

::T’Mar bowed her head in respect as Jalana spoke to the Gorn woman before them. She suddenly realized how little she knew about the man that Sun and Jalana held in such high regard.::

T'Mar: I am.. Sorry for your loss.

Ndrassa: This is...I'm sorry, ma'am, sir. I'm not sure of your names.

Turner: I'm sorry, I'm Toni Turner.

Parker: Hannibal TIberious Parker…

::T’Mar looked at the individuals that introduced themselves. She had never met them before that she could recall. She acknowledged both politely, knowing that if they were here, they were friends and/or colleagues of the Gorn man.::

:: A gentle smile played on Jalana’s lips as she turned to the other guests. She knew Turner and was quite sure to have at least seen Parker before as well, but had never spoken with him.::

Rajel: I wish the circumstances were better, but it is good to see you. ::She reached out to shake Toni’s hand and then Hannibal’s. :: I’m Jalana, I don’t think we had the pleasure yet.

Turner: ::shaking her hand warmly:: It’s good to see you too, Captain. You're right, the circumstances could be better, Jalana, but perhaps we can remedy that in the near future.

:: Shaking Jalana’s hand, the tiny Trill commanding officer's’ hand disappearing inside his::

Parker: It would be an honor to have you and the Connie Bee to join us for shore leave some time. Duronis is a beautiful place….

:: The journey from Selene's ready room on the Doyle to the funeral left Sun with a lot to think about. She knew this would hit Selene hard, it was one of the closest friends that they were saying goodbye to, but she didn't know how hard. There had to be other contributing factors, as Selene had managed through so much in her time, that it was hard for Sun to understand why a death of a friend was harder on Selene than it was on Sun. When she got to the holodeck, she took a look around seeing the trophies and the people. She recognized Admiral Turner from the several times she went to the Embassy. But it was T'Mar and Jalana that she wanted to go join. But for the moment, she stood at the rear of the holodeck, only having sidestepped where the door was, to allow new entries. ::

Rajel: ::Smiling to Turner and Parker:: I would like that. May I introduce, my First Officer T’Mar.

T’Mar: ::facing Turner and bowing her head slightly:: Greetings, Admiral. It is agreeable to meet you.

Turner: ::greeting her with a offered hand:: I'm glad to meet you, T'Mar. I've heard a lot of good things about your work on the Constitution. ::The woman's face indicated a hint of surprise, so Toni qualified her statement. :: We're always looking for up and coming officers in the fleet.

::Not wanting to be rude, T’Mar shook the Admiral’s hand. She was caught off guard when Turner stated that she had heard about her. Although she had served in Starfleet for many years, she knew she was only one of many. To have a Rear Admiral be familiar with her work was either very positive or very negative. Thankfully, it appeared to be positive.::

T'Mar: I see. Well I always serve to the best of my abilities.

Turner: I'd like to introduce you to Major Hannibal Parker, XO of the Embassy’s Marine Corps. He is a former First Officer of mine, as was Captain Nugra.

:: Hannibal offered the First Officer of the Constitution- B his hand::

Parker: A pleasure to meet you, Commander….

::T’Mar once again took the offered hand before her. This Parker sounded as if he had quite the interesting experience and she wondered what it was like serving at an Embassy rather than a ship.::

T’Mar: Thank you, Major. It sounds as if Admiral Turner has quite the experienced crew at the Embassy. I do wish we had had the chance to meet under different circumstances.

::While Hannibal spoke with Captain Rajel and T’Mar, Toni stepped away to view the body. Nugra looked older and a bit more battle worn, but the expression they had set on his face was just as she had seen so many times at the Embassy. Reaching into her jacket pocket, she took out a special ribbon and pinned it to his uniform. oO Your hard fought battle of life is over now. Rest in peace, Nugra. Oo She turned, walking over to his daughter.::

Turner: Ndrassa, I couldn’t give him a Captain’s Commendation in life, but he now wears one for his contributions to the Embassy/Thunder and Starfleet for which he gave his ultimate sacrifice.

Ndrassa: It means a lot to me and I know it would have meant a lot to him.

Turner: ::as the others join them:: You have every right to be proud of him.

:: Walking over to look at his former foe, Hannibal noted his face...for the first time, Hannibal saw no tension, no sign of aggression. He looked more worn, tired. All the things the two beings had done to each other...Nugra stealing his chair. Hannibal turning off the heat in his quarters and adjusting the environmental controls to obscenely cold levels, Nugra “adjusting” the replicator in his quarters to provide him with nothing but vegetables. Hannibal rightly dressing down Nugra’s Marine detachment after they “failed” Hannibals’ boarding simulation; to the absolute naked hostility the two bestowed on each other. There was nothing more he wanted at one time was to turn the Gorn into a pair of boots and a suitcase. Now, here, in his tomb, he was finally at peace. A warriors’ peace::

Parker: oO Rest well, Nugra. You were a worthy adversary and an honorable officer. Perhaps one day, I could have called you friend. One day, I will see you on the other side. We’ll fight the demons of darkness together.Oo

Parker: It is an honor he deserved…
