Strathmore: ::Speaking Romulan:: Il’ukiudh oa yearhoaiumm’u kleartean aeulleakjs’hnvaelh’n shinarae! (Cheers!)
Lennai: Iudaiht ieiuqh hifvarh. (To your health.) ::fluently::
She took some liberties with the language, but that just made her seem more like a native speaker.
Strathmore: Your Romulan is much better than mine.
Lennai: Well, I took a few extra classes. More than you, clearly. ::teasing, lightheartedly::
That was when the waiter arrived and the night got a whole lot crazier in a way neither of them would’ve expected.
Kayvaan: ::Sighing:: What do you want?
The waiter was a Mazarite. He held a PADD up, presumably to write down their orders, which was strange for a restaurant of this caliber.
oO Don’t waiters at these places usually have impeccable memorization skills? Oo
And that’s not even mentioning how he introduced himself.
Vaysha quirked a brow at his attitude, looking to Arthur.
Lennai: Well, uh. We were just looking at the menu still, we just sat down..
Strathmore: Yeah, we actually are still deciphering this menu.
The waiter ground his teeth together.
Kayvaan: The stupid menu. Well, when you people finally figure it out, you just whistle for me. Really loud too. Waiters love it when you whistle at them.
He spoke with such distain in his voice. What could’ve happened to this man?
Lennai: ::furrowing brow:: Yes, just a few extra minutes please.
Kayvaan: ::Mocking her:: “Just a few more minutes please” Forefathers, I’ve about had it with the likes you.
Then, he walked off. With a bit of an attitude in his step, clearly. Arthur was so uncomfortable with the situation, he started laughing. How absurd all this was.
Strathmore: ::Laughing:: What is going on?
Lennai: What was his problem?
Strathmore: A waiter on the end of his ropes perhaps? Or maybe it’s like the Ferengi place where the waiter insults you.
Lennai: Response
The waiter had looked very serious, but there was no knowing in a place like this. Arthur was half expecting snails to fall from the ceiling. That wouldn’t happen. Unless…
Strathmore: Well, we better figure out these menus fast.
Arthur had never seen any Romulan like this before. It was like it was almost Romulan, but not quite.
Lennai: Response
Strathmore: I think you’re right.
Lennai: Response
Strathmore: That’s it! This word has the same root for the word “drunk”, so that must mean this is a drink menu!
Kayvaan/Lennai: Response
