Lennai: Yes, very good Arthur. ::smirking:: I feel like a teacher.
Strathmore: ::To Vaysha:: I do love learning.
Kayvaan: Maybe, you should learn to order more quickly, so you don’t waste my time?
He practically slammed his hands onto the table and looked at the two of them. Vaysha visibly recoiled away from the loud noise, though quickly regained her composure – mostly by focusing on Arthur, and not the madman next to her.
Lennai: Yes, we deciphered the menu. ::looking over to Arthur:: Hmm. You order for me. I don’t want to make a decision for once.
Strathmore: ::Scanning the tablet:: she’ll take the “Sparkling Nimbus III”.
Lennai: Good choice. ::smiling::
Kayvaan: How banal.
Strathmore: I know, I’m not an educated drinker.
Kayvaan: Don’t you dare start with me! Do you know what I’ve been through in these last few weeks?
oO Okay, definitely not an act. What’s with this guy? Oo
Arthur looked shocked. Vaysha looked over at Kayvaan, looking at him with a furrowed brow.
Strathmore: I’m sorry. I don’t. I am a counselor, however—
Kayvaan: I hate counselors.
oO Choose diplomacy, Vaysha.. Oo
Lennai: Look, we started off on the wrong foot. We’re with Starfleet, and we’re just trying to enjoy a night o-
Kayvaan got in the Orion’s face. This caused her to recoil backwards, but he continued to lean forwards, continuing to get in her personal space.
Kayvaan: I hate Starfleet Officers too.
Lennai: Well, I am.. Uh – sorry, to hear that?
Kayvaan: Don’t you have a ship to commandeer, pirate? Or are you one of the dancers?
oO What? Oo
Strathmore: That’s enough.
Strathmore began to look angry. Vaysha did not notice. Her brow furrowed, her teeth gritted behind her lips, the last real bastion of concealing her anger at that comment. The amount of prejudice, the ridicule she received for even thinking of joining Starfleet. Just for someone like this to talk down to her? Who did he think he was to judge her? Nobody gets to judge me like this.
Kayvaan: What? You mad, Orion? What are you going to do about it?
That comment boiled Vaysha over the edge. The more.. Unkind side of the woman showed itself, and she slowly stood up. The man persisted in intruding in her personal space.
oO Look at his shit eating grin. He knows there’s nothing you can do to him. He’s bullying you, and you are helpless. Hit him. Hit him now. He won’t see it coming. Oo
Patrons were beginning to look towards the table. The host looked as though he could care less. Vaysha was going to make him regret that train of thought.
Lennai: I’m giving you one chance to please.. Leave my personal space, sir.
oO That was it. That was the last line of niceties he’s getting. Oo
Arthur: Response
Vaysha held up a hand to separate herself from the host. He did the opposite. He slapped her hand out of the way and shifted further into her personal space. Suddenly, with a climatic show of emotion, the Orion was reduced to muscle and fury. This image spoke to something bubbling deep within almost every sentient being. A singular strike, her offhand (the one that wasn’t smacked away) immediately shot forwards in a balled fist, colliding with Kayvaan’s jaw, sending him tumbling to the floor as an audible POP was heard, even over the idle (eery) music playing. Vaysha stood over him, her fists balled, breathing heavily. Her lips parted to speak – in anger and reprisal, no doubt –, but then closed. It was obvious to those around that tears began to well in her eyes, and then stream down her cheeks.
The Orion fled outside.
Kayvaan: Response
Arthur: Response
When he found her, she was sitting on the curb outside in the street. Her face buried in her lap. She looked strong, earlier. Powerful – unbeatable, even. Everyone did, when they won a fight. Vaysha didn’t look proud or triumphant now, though. She was reduced to a sobbing girl, a shell on the side of the road with her emotions bubbling to the forefront. And not the good ones.
Arthur: Response
She didn’t even hear him at first, over her sniffling – but Vaysha eventually lifted her head. Her perfectly combed hair with the curls at the end was now a mess, black mascara was running down her cheeks.
Lennai: Wh-.. what?
Her voice was hesitant. Scared, as if she was about to be taken away. Tried for some crime. Rationally it was self-defense, but she looked anything but rational in that moment.
