PNPC Commander Adriana Morgan - Calm Before the Storm

It wasn't unheard of to have Ferengi around in various positions in Starfleet anymore. It might have, at one time, but now they were officers, captains, lower deckmen, and sole proprietors on ships and stations throughout the galaxy. Thus, Adri wasn't at all surprised to find that one had taken up the role of bar owner aboard the little intrepid class ship that she was apparently now calling home.

Like most starship lounges, large windows offered a mostly unobstructed view of the outside, which now consisted of the curvature of the ring as it gently sloped away towards the horizon. Once they got underway, she suspected that the view would be the familiar streaks or dots of stars that painted images of constellations and held the imaginations of those who looked up at them at night on their homeworlds. The story was as old as time itself, and it was in the stars where it began.

Casually, the Betazoid woman found a seat at the bar, her dark eyes still focused on the ring. Nearby she was aware of the bartender as he approached even if she couldn't read him. Black Hole bar...it seemed aptly named at least from the perspective of a telepathic race and one who could not be read.

Morgan: What's good here?

Zogi: Response?

Adriana grinned as much to herself as to the Ferengi on the other side of the bar.

Morgan: That's fair. Surprise me then.

Zogi: Response?

For a long moment she looked back at the ring out the windows and wondered what it might have been like to remain there. Still, the stars had always called to her, so she figured that she probably would not have been very satisfied for long. Running around the galaxy with her hair on fire, proverbially of course, was much more her speed.

Before long, a glass was placed in front of her and she turned her back to the windows.

Morgan: Thank you.

Zogi: Response?

At that, she raised an eyebrow.

Morgan: I suppose this is the calm before the storm.

Zogi: Response?
