[Denali] Ensign Elonat - Good News and Bad News

Oddas: The Juneau is due back in a day or so, it should be able to help.
Elonat: That would be sufficient for immediate concerns. Specialized equipment to handle the waste would likely need to be built or imported in the near future.
Oddas: The Grace Hopper is finishing up its refurbishment and resupply, I can redirect it back here. It has specialized facilities for dealing with different types of radiation - mostly for its scientific research. I can redirect it to get back here within a week. Will that work short term?
Elonat turned to her as she provided more resource options. Though it wouldn’t be on their orders, the fact that the Worene’s recommendation could impact an entire starship felt a little overwhelming. A button was pressed. The display’s brief flicker between subjects was enough to attract Elonat’s focus. Captain Oddas had brought up a 3D overview of the ship.
Elonat: ::observing the holodisplay:: Quite well, I believe. If we could find ways to implement some of their safety systems on the ground, then it is likely that the radiation levels could be reduced to something negligible in less than three weeks.
Stelek: I concur, we can replicate portable versions of the atmospheric scrubbers, send crews to install them in plazas near the most concentrated areas of contamination.
The Ensign nodded in thoughtful agreement, lifting their gaze to acknowledge the room again. Another had joined the three around the holodisplay, an Orion. She must have been the one who just held a discussion over a com—One that Elonat had to purposefully ignore due to her prior proximity.
Oddas: Can we beam them in?
Life signs had appeared within the three radiation hotspots.
Elonat: It may not be possible. Radiation often disrupts transportation.
Neshala: There has been quite a bit of transporter activity, Captain. So I don’t believe the radiation is hampering it too greatly. Though in the areas of larger radiation concentrations, pattern enhancers are necessary for a complete transporter lock.
The relief from that information released some of the tension that had rapidly built up in Elonat. They let out a short sigh before looking to the Captain for further instruction.

Elonat: Beyond current cellular damage, they would only need treatment for symptoms. As long as the biofilters perform as expected, that is.
Neshala: I alerted the clinic earlier and they have already begun the necessary preparations.

Elonat: If there is a lack of available personnel, and I am no longer needed here, I am capable of assisting in a rescue party or triage.
They took the PADD they had arrived with back into their possession. The Ensign quickly switched programs to search for more information regarding radiation. With a general plan in place, they felt no shame in taking a short moment to refresh their knowledge.
