Ensign Logan - Two Officers passing... not in the night

::The Meeting of the Senior staff had finished and their new destination and new ships awaited them, a new direction had opened up for both ship and crew the Darwin being one of four assigned to the new Andaris task force. Duty being duty Kurt was working through his duty list when he spotted the new Security Officer the Betazoidian Janus Kell heading towards Sickbay::

Logan oO No doubt to have his required Medical Oo

::To many it always seemed a bit unnecessary having a medical on a ship you weren’t going to be staying on only to then have another one as soon as you moved ships, Kurt had experienced that himself so he was familiar with the chain of thought. But that’s how it was with such things so most of the time you just kept your head down did what was needed and lived by the old Military axiom – hurry up and wait::

::Not having had the time since he came aboard or immediately following the meeting Kurt took the opportunity to now speak with the Officer:: 

Logan: Ensign Kell, Ensign Logan haven’t had a chance to meet you since you came aboard

 

Kell: Ensign…Logan. Good to be aboard 

Logan: Well not aboard for long ::Chuckling lightly:: given the news at the meeting

 

Kell: Quite. It’s all change around here at the moment

 

Logan: You’ll get used to it in Fleet. Your moved around here there and everywhere, sometimes you’re lucky and it’ll be with some people you already know other times it won’t be.

 

Kell: Would have been nice to have gotten to know at least some of the Darwin crew, so far I think the number I know is about 2, give or take. You’ve been moved around before then?

 

Logan: Well so far I’ve had placement order for nine ships, if you count the Atlantis, and will have served on four. Go figure

 

Kell: Over what time period? ::Janus knew that serving in Starfleet would be a big change to being stationed on Betazed but he hadn’t expected the changes to happen so quickly or often, still, Janus had been trained by his father to adapt and adapt he would.::

 

::There was a flicker of surprise as Kurt gave an exceedingly brief account of his time since, well not since the academy as he had never passed through their doors instead being transferred from the Corp and undertaking a distance learning  Security course, more or less completing it before he arrived on board the Excalibur and his first posting::

Logan: Just about two years, and it seems so much longer ::Shaking his head::

 

Kell: All change… I was just on my way to sickbay for my medical, seems a little unnecessary under the circumstances but regs are regs.

 

Logan: That is true, and if you don’t do it then they’ll come hunting for you whether you like it or not

 

Kell: As much as I’d like to be doing anything but going to sickbay I’d better get it out of the way.

 

Logan: try and enjoy yourself just lying there being tended to by Nurses ::Winking::

 

Kell: I’ll try not to enjoy myself too much… be seeing you 

Logan: Doing the rounds no doubt

::Seeing the new Ensign head tom Sickbay Kurt went back to the start of the deck to begin his checks here from the top so his slight detour to talk to the Betazoid Officer wouldn’t make him miss anything::
