((USS Darwin, Deck 2, Conference Room))
::Didrik listened as the gravity of the situation on DS26 seemed to hit everyone in turn. Once everyone had a chance to digest what was going on, it was time for action. Ideas were being exchanged, and Brell seemed to take naturally to the role of being in command, allowing the experience of those seated around the table to be vocalised while still maintaining his control of the situation. Didrik could only imagine what the Bolian must be thinking, given that his wife was currently one of the many people currently incapacitated over on the starbase. Offering to comfort him was out of the question; the best thing Didrik could do now was carry out his orders professionally and to the best of his ability.::
R’Ven: It sounds as if we will have to go there and examine the situation in person. Both to examine those botanical growths and examine the people who are sleeping.
Brell: Without knowing exactly caused everyone to fall asleep any teams that go over there will have to don EVA suits.
Lambert: responses
Thomas: Agree, they should afford us appropriate protection. Even though we don’t know the exact cause yet.
E'riQ: So... who is going, and where?
Brell: Lieutenant E’riQ you will join Ensign Kell and myself. We will be securing the station and attempt to regain control of ops. We lost our uplink so we can not remotely ensure all of the docking clamps are secured or control the environmental systems. So we will be seeing to that too.
Kell: response
E’riQ: response
Brell: R’Ven I’d like you Ensign Hikaru, along with Doctors Pond and Jora to investigate those who were put to sleep, find out what caused it and how to revive them.
R’Ven: Physically going there presents the danger of us falling victim of whatever it is that has affected those on Star Base 26. However bringing someone here may bring that affect over here.
Brell: Your choice Commander. You can take your team over to the starbase or beam someone here under full quarantine and try to wake them here.
Pond: I think we can elaborate on that while preparing…
Hikaru: I agree, doctor. I'm keen to check more thoroughly the status and brain patterns of those on the station.
Jora: response
Brell: Commander I’d like you to take a team to the Starbase to looking into this plant spreading unchecked. You will need to find out the extent of its effect on the starbases systems and how it is effecting them to begin with. Take Lieutenants; Lambert and Shayne as well as Ensign Logan.
Thomas: Understood.
Logan/Shayne/Lambert: responses
Brell: Dr. Lahr and Commander Stennes with the station unable to keep the quarantine on its own I need you two here to coordinate with the duty officers on the rest of the task force to make sure no ships break it. You will also be acting as a hub of for the incoming data to make sure teams have as up to date information as possible being gathered by the others. Luckily Darwin is our resident science ship and its computer systems are the most advanced in the fleet.
Stennes: ::nodding:: Understood.
::Didrik didn’t know whether to be relieved or disappointed about being ordered to stay behind. He absolutely wasn’t keen on exploring what could be an extremely dangerous situation, but he also felt he had sufficient cross training to be valuable to any of the three away teams. But his size was a terrible fit for the EVA suits, and he stifled a chuckle in the thought that maybe Brell was doing him a favor in allowing him to avoid such an indignity, for old times’ sake.::
Lahr: response
Brell: Teams who are beaming over should suit up right away, we all have colleagues and or people we love over there that need us.
::Since he was remaining aboard Darwin, Didrik remained seated while the teams peeled off and began their respective plans. Commander Thomas and Lt. Commander R’Ven both led their teams out of the conference room amid a flurry of conversation. Once the place had thinned out some, Didrik made his way toward the turbolift, approaching Dr. Enith Lahr in the process. They’d not yet been formally introduced, but Didrik had familiarized himself with the doctor’s biography, and concluded that the Betazoid-Human acting CMO had had one hell of an interesting life.::
Stennes: Walk with me?
Lahr: response
Stennes: Kind of weird that a bout of uncontrollable sleepiness hit the station only after the CO and XO of virtually every nearby ship had beamed aboard, don’t you think?
Lahr: response
((USS Darwin, Deck 1, Bridge))
::As the two stepped onto the bridge, Didrik was expecting a whirlwind of activity, but business as usual seemed be the case, at least for now.::
Stennes: I guess our first job is figuring out exactly who’s in command of Blackwell, Atlantis, and El Corazón at the moment, and establish a link-up with each of them. Once the away teams start sending back information, I guess we’ll want to get the science teams on it, too.
Lahr: response
