((OOC: Don't mind me, just having fun trolling around with R'Ven's idea :P))

((Corridor 12, Deck 7, USS Darwin-A))

:: Sánchez had recently arrived at the Darwin. Well, she had recently joined Starfleet in general, and as in crewman, so no long years in the academy. She knew the regulations and knew her job, but she was a young girl still getting used to the daily life of the fleet. ::

:: She had always wanted to see space. Having grown up in a small town in Spain, Earth, she always wanted to see the stars. They said amazing things happened out there. Incredible things. Surprising things. And surprised she was about to be, indeed. ::

:: As she walked down the corridor to her post, walking fast because there was a situation on the station and every hand was needed aboard the Darwin, a loud blast came from somewhere. Rapidly looking around, she finally localized the blast to be on top of her. He hard a few gasps, but it was people as surprised as she was. Moving quick, she ran towards a turbolift and went up one deck. ::

((Secondary briefing room, Deck 6, USS Darwin-A))

:: Once there, finding the source of the blast was easy enough. Not because it had lasting effects, but because so many curious faces went out to check, she could follow he stream of people looking down the corridor. She finally got to the Secondary briefing room. Two crewmen were standing at the door, wearing blue. ::

Sánchez: Sánchez, from engineering. What happened?

Jackson: I'm crewman Jackson, from science. And... we are not sure. We came here as we heard the blast. There aren't any witnesses...

:: Surprised, she entered the room. There weren't any signs of explosion, but the room was a mess. Several chairs were lying on the floor or, still more surprising, three of them were on top of the table. Also, two panels had been ripped off the wall. Luckily, but unsurprisingly, the viewport windows had held their place. ::

Sánchez: What the...?

Jackson: No idea. Checking the disposition of chairs... it looks like an implosion?

:: She raised an eyebrow. She wasn't sure of what the physics of an implosion were or what the science man was suggesting. ::

Sánchez: Computer, any reports from the last five minutes?

Computer: Sudden drop of pressure 3 minutes 20 seconds ago.

Sánchez: Report cause.

Computer: Unknown.

:: Surprised, she approached a panel, to see any other events that could have caused it. The room had been unused for hours. Actually, no one had been there for hours. There was a outgoing transport signal, however. ::

Sánchez: Computer, there is an outgoing transport signal. Time stamp?

Computer: 3 minutes 52 seconds ago.

:: Which was more or less the same instant of the drop of pressure. ::

Sánchez: What was beamed out?

Computer: 10.000 liters of standard life-supporting atmosphere.

Sánchez: WHAT?

Computer: 10.000 liters of standard life-supporting atmosphere.

:: She looked, completely out of words, at the two scientists by the door. ::

Jackson: That would explain the drop of pressure. And the implosion. And the blast, as the remaining void was filled with the surrounding air, and life support systems compensated for the lack of atmosphere.

:: She had to agree with him, at least to her knowledge. She slowly nodded, mouth still wide open in surprise. ::

Sánchez: Explain...? Computer, was there anything else in the room? Was anything else beamed out?

Computer: Negative.

:: Beaming something out like that could have been an attack. But just air? Even if some mysterious alien species wanted an air sample, ten thousand liters seemed like an overkill. ::

Sánchez: Where has the transporter been ordered from?

Computer: Deck 10, sickbay.

:: So it was no attack. Someone within the ship had decided to beam out ten thousand liters of empty air. And, considering whoever did this had the proper rank and she was a mere crewman, it was probable she'd never get to find out the reason. ::

Sánchez: =/\= Uh... engineering, there has been some minor damage to the secondary briefing room, in deck 6. Please list it for repair, but it has low priority, no danger associated. =/\=

:: Still at a loss for words, she slowly walked out of the room. ::

Sánchez: Who beams ten thousand liters of empty air out of a room?

:: The two scientists shrugged. Starfleet life was surprising indeed. ::
