Ensign Maramox - A Moment to... Do? Something?

Stalking a new life form was… Interesting. Nerve wracking, but overall. It’s exciting to learn something new though.
And then worry for Lystra and Yirah as the peraoxstra-relkie ran towards them.
Maramox: Watch out!
It didn’t feel like enough as the pair looked for a wait to move while also not sending the creature running.
Lystra: Sir, get back!
Yirah falls with a thud and Lystra shoots and sends out a moment of bright contact. The peraoxstra-relkie kept going though.
Lystra: Damn, increasing to the highest stun setting.
She fell as she hit it again; but so did it. Maramox paused for a long moment feeling a sense of urgency to do something.
Yirah: Lystra! Are you okay?
Yirah went over to Lystra so quickly Maramox didn’t even have a moment to act. Perax was quick to follow. They felt like they failed before they could even start.
Perax: ::he spoke in a chagrined voice:: Sorry, I forgot my phaser.
Lystra: When we get back to the ship. We’re reviewing security protocols. ::she grunted:: Anyone wanna help get Relkie off of me, please? They’re really heavy.
It does take an extra second for Maramox to get into position for the relkie. Pulling it together made the creature feel almost light.
Yirah: You didn't answer my question Lystra. Are you okay?
Maramox: Please do let us know, I want to make sure I can help.
Lystra: I’m alright. A little bruised. The suit took the brunt, I’m just glad I didn’t get impaled. That would have been bad. ::she crouched down and studied them for a moment:: They look almost metallic.
Perax: Maybe it has a high iron diet? ::he shrugged his shoulders::
Yirah scanned the creature’s antlers and Maramox was certain he made a face.
Yirah: A lot of iron sulfide and ::he tilted his head in confusion:: small amounts of chondrules.
Maramox: Maybe they work with the weather?
Lystra: So, it’s got an excessive amount of iron and some Chrondite in its antlers? You know, when I shot it the first time I could swear its body glowed. You don’t think these animals absorb energy through their antlers?
Yirah: I saw it too. ::he paused, thinking:: As for the iron, I know that there is a type of snail from Earth that uses iron sulfide in its shell to help protect it around hydrothermal vents.
Maramox: ::a little sheepishly:: That makes a little more sense.
