As the server came over and dropped something to drink for Ba'el they also ordered their food. Sherana decided to try something new and ordered the Ember-Hound medaillions, rare. It may not be alive any more but at least still bloody, and paired that with a Smoke-Spire Ale. The drink was brought quickly but she did not touch it yet.

Ba'el: Is everything alright?

Sherana: Of course. ::She hesitated slightly.:: Why?

Ba'el: You just seem a little tense. That's all.

Sherana: I.. do not believe I am any different from usual.

Which either meant she was blined to a change, or she was always tense. Or maybe both.

Ba'el: You just seem, a little uncomfortable sitting here.

Sherana: Ah. ::She shook her head.:: I am not used to eating with someone in a social setting.

Ba'el: ::Arches an eyebrow in query:: oh?

Hearing that Ba'el knew what she was refering to made Sherana feel a bit better. She indeed had one of those captains... and one of those fathers. She didn't know it any different from that, however she did know that there were parts of the homeworld where it was different. Just not the way she experienced it.

Ba'el: ::Arches an eyebrow in query:: oh?

Sherana: Even on my ship meals were for nutrition not talk. ::Her ship meaning the IKS HoS.::

Ba'el: Ahh, you had one of "those" Captains then.

Sherana: Is it different in the Monastery?

Ba'el had mentioned her work there, and Sherana had heard of it naturally, she did not know much about the life there.

Before Ba'el could answer the server returned with their orders. The scent of the dishes made Sherana's mouth water. Her eyes briefly went to Ba'el's meal and then her own, curious what it would taste like since she did not have this one before. She cut off a piece of her meat and took a hearty bite as if she had hunted the beast herself, enjoying the feeling of it melting on her tongue. Her dark eyes landed on the other Klingon Woman, patiently waiting for her to elaborate on her monastery life.

Ba'el: Sorry, but you really weren't kidding. This is delicious! As to life in the monastery, well, mealtimes depended on who you were eating with. The Masters tended to eat in silence. I suppose it went with their lofty positions.

The Orion was pleased to hear that Ba'el approved of the dish and then raised her brows.

Sherana: And those that were not Masters?

Ba'el: The majority of the Brotherhood had communal dining and, depending on who was there and with seniority, it could either have been quiet contemplation, or a raucous experience.

Sherana: Mhm, so both extremes came into play in the same place. What about you?

Ba'el: Novitiates, like myself, ate when we had time between the many tasks we had to perform each day.

Sherana: I see ::She took another bite.:: From what I understand you had visitors, too that you took care of. What about them?

She took another bite, enjoying the flavours spreading. She had not exactly planned coming to eat here today, but she did not regret it.

Ba'el: Those that came to seek shelter, or to meditate on the teachings of Kahless tended to mostly keep to themselves. We only brought meals to those who asked for them. Otherwise we left them to their own devices.

Sherana: So they had their own ways to make dinners, I assume.

Ba'el: Response

Sherana: Mhm. I had only heard of the Monastery but never had a reason to visit myself.

Possible that she had a reason, but just didn't know it. Going through what she had gone through would most likely have sufficed to make this a good decision. But then she had never seen a Counselor either.

Ba'el: Response

Sherana: I heard people had to recover their memories from an incident. I assume your department is quite busy with the aftermath of that.

Changing subjects, always a deflection ready. She had not been in the know of everything only bits and pieces here and there because in a ship of this size the bush drums still worked remarkably well.

Ba'el: Response
