((Bridge, Deck 1, USS Aleek-Om))

The comms between ships had been fixed and not a moment too soon as a comm came through from the Icarus.

Lystra: =/\= Lystra to Aleek-Om, we’re going to attempt to rephrase the Icarus’ crew using their medical transporter. Please lock onto the coordinates I’m sending you now and be prepared to transfer them directly on board as soon as they materialize. We’re going to be doing this in intervals as we get power to Sickbay. Lystra out. =/\=

oO Rephase the crew of the Icarus!? What is going on over there? Oo

Questions would have to wait as he quickly accessed transporter controls from the ops station. As he input the coordinates Lystra sent, he made his promised call to the Commodore.

Felbri: ::to Jalana:: =/\= Commodore, a Lattice Alliance ship dropped out of warp and has activated its transporter twice since arrival. =/\=

Rajel: =/\= I’m aware of the presence of the alliance. I’ve been with a group of them for a while. Not that it isn’t good to hear you, but why the late call? =/\=

Felbri: =/\= I had attempted to but comms between ships were jammed. Commander D'Sena has resolved the issue. =/\=

Rajel: =/\= Ah. Good work. Did you say they transported twice? =/\=

As he listened finalized the lock on the coordinates and waited for the Icarus crew.

Felbri: =/\= Yes. We have two confirmed transports. You didn't see another team? =/\=

oO They could have transported something else other than personnel I suppose. Oo

Rajel: =/\= No we have only one team here. We are being observed while investigating what happened to the ship and crew. Please focus on what you can do to assist Cade's and Mingxing's team to safely bring the Icarus crew back. =/\=

Felbri: =/\= Aye Commodore. =/\=

The commline closed.

Sinclair: ::she looked down at Motha:: How are you comin’ along?

Motha: response

Kvash: Just a thought. Bear in mind their technology is more advanced than ours. Maybe we can tease out an advance that makes them more vulnerable?

Sinclair: Th’ problem Lieutenant is tha’ we do no’ know enough aboot them. We skirmished wi’ there ships a century an’ a half ago.

Motha: Response

Kvash: And we don't, begging everyone's pardon, want a fight. I know, I know, a Klingon not wanting a fight.

Felbri: I wasn't planning on starting one.

Commanding a battle between starships was something that Rendov definitely did not have the experience for. He had been trained in it at the Academy but nothing beat hands on experience and battling starships was far different than the Tor zel Tay matches he'd been in.

Motha: response

Kvash: Sometimes, the honorable thing to do is *not* rush into a fight you are not confident you can win.

Sinclair: ::she shook her head:: Forgive me Leuftenant, but if you are no’ confident you can win head tae head, tha’ just means you hev tae be more creative.

Kvash: response

Sinclair: Tha’s odd. Is tha’ th’ Icarus transmitting its ID to the other ship? Why wuid it do tha’?

Kvash/Motha: response

Sinclair: ::She pulled up the sensor reading of the signal to her screen.:: Tha’ mak’s naw sense. There’s got tae be a reason. There! It’s  steganography! A message is hidden underneath the carrier wave. Someone is telling us to blind the sensors of the other ship.

Kvash/Motha: response

Sinclair: What aboot a good auld fashioned smoke screen? Obviously not actual smoke, but you get th’ idea.

Felbri: Any ideas on how to do that?

Kvash/Motha: response

Sinclair: What th’ ? The Icarus is sparking and firing into nothin’. Something is set wrong on tha’ ship. Th’ weird warp signature is back too.

Ren's fingers twitched. He hated feeling so helpless, just waiting for the signal from S'Jenes while they watched the ship malfunction dangerously.

Kvash/Motha: response

S'Jenes: =/\= Icarus sickbay to Aleek-Om Bridge. Ensign S'Jenes. Prepare your cargo transporters to receive remote pattern locks from our Emergency Medical Transporter. Please refrain from energizing until I give the command. =/\=

Felbri: =/\= Got it. =/\=

Anyone on the Aleek-Om bridge: =/\=Respond=/\=

S'Jenes: =/\= We will relay each acquired transporter signature to your pattern buffer. Once every life sign—including my own—has been transferred, execute transport. Please confirm readiness. =/\=

Felbri: =/\= Ready. =/\=

Rendov watched the buffer pick up each of the signatures.

oO How many are they transporting? How are they all still alive after so long? Oo

Anyone on the Aleek-Om bridge: =/\= Respond =/\=

S'Jenes: =/\= Ensign S'Jenes to Aleek-Om Bridge. All unphased personnel have been successfully relayed to your cargo transporter. Pattern integrity is nominal. You are cleared to energize all stored patterns simultaneously. Following completion of the transport, acquire and beam my pattern directly to Cargo Bay One. =/\=

Felbri: =/\= It will be done. =/\=

He activated the transporter, watching as the cargo bay went from having zero lifesigns to suddenly having 45.

Ren then made the last transport, moving S'Jenes to Cargo Bay One.

Anyone on Aleek-Om Bridge: =/\= Respond=/\=

After a moment he tapped his comm badge again.

Felbri: ::to S'Jenes:: =/\= Who are these people Ensign S'Jenes? The children of the original crew? =/\=

S'Jenes: =/\= response =/\=

oO How is that possible? Oo

He'd have to figure it out later, right now the more pressing matter was the malfunctioning Icarus ship.

Felbri: It's like the Icarus' power has become unstable.

Kvash/Motha/Sinclair: response
