((Holodeck, USS Constitution-B ))
Ellie frowned and crossed her arms, trying to give off her usual disagreeable demeanor that she often had as a teenager.
Park: I didn’t say that I was having fun. I’m doing this for the science is all!
T'Seva: I thought *I* was the one with the Vulcan heritage here!
Ba'el: Of course, for science. I meant no insult.
Yito: For science, the laughter was definitely for science. :: Returning the teasing ::
Ellie huffed and rolled her eyes dramatically.
Park: Whatever. Are we doing this or not?
Yito: Sure! :: Excited ::
T'Seva: Let's do this!
Ba'el: Of course, but, I am going to go check in with the science team and give them my results. In the meantime ::Tosses the ball to Park:: I believe you are "it".
Ellie caught the ball with a smirk. She used two fingers to give a farewell salute to Ba’el and turned back to the others.
Park: Leaving us on our own? I guess we are still trustworthy then!
Yito: That’s what they think. :: A hint of mischief in her voice but with no plan to actually cause any trouble ::
T’Seva: Kids can be trusted! Most of them.
All Ellie could think is that T’Seva obviously had no idea what she was like as a kid. The first time she was anyway.
Park: Computer, randomize the size and shapes of the obstacles.
Yito: What about whoever gets hit is it?
T'Seva: That works for me!
Ellie shrugged and looked at them both, her expression making it clear she was checking if they were prepared.
Yito: Ready.
The holodeck updated to the specifications and Ellie looked at the other two with a raised brow.
Park: Should I count or…
She trailed off with a playful smirk and waited for the cue from the others.
T’Seva: We could get the comp…
Seja took off and T’Seva only took a moment to do the same. Ellie frowned, knowing she had missed a golden opportunity to pelt one of the at close range.
Park: ::laughing:: So not fair!
Ellie chose the bigger target and tried to side sweep her before she was out of range, but no such luck. She picked the ball back up and tried to sneak up on wherever Seja had ended up. Her smaller counterpart popped out and made her way towards another place to hide behind.
Yito: Come get me. :: Shouting and sticking her tongue out cheekly, her previous hit hadn’t reduced her confidence and she was getting more use this body. ::
T'Seva: You can't get both of us!
Ellie huffed when she realized they both were making a mad dash and she knew she had to make a split second decision.
Park: It’s only a matter of time before I get one of you!
She knew she had to be patient and try to coax them out of their spots until she had the advantage. She threw the ball a handful of times, so far managing to hit everything but her intended targets. But then, she saw her chance. Seja was just close enough that..
Park: Ha!
Yito: Got me! :: A fake sad expression ::
T’Seva: Now you're it!
Yito: Ready or not here I come. :: A wide troublesome smile. ::
Right. She should probably hide then. Ellie took off towards the nearest obstacle, which was low enough she could jump over it, then tuck into a roll and move behind a bigger barrier. That could have been embarrassing. She had heard the ball whiz by her.
Yito: You won’t get a way so easily next time. :: A wide smile ::
Park: Nice try!
Ellie cackled as she moved away from Seja only to hear the words…
Yito: You are it now.
Ellie turned, wide-eyed and realizing that she now needed to hide from the Vulcan hybrid that she wasn’t watching a moment ago. Immediately she realized that instead of being hidden, she was well within range. She gulped and took off at full speed towards a better hiding spot- moving erratically to make less of a target.
Park: Oh no you don’t!
Yito: I’m over here. :: Taunting, is was having an amazing time ::
Ellie froze behind the barrier for a moment, listening to determine if Seja had been tagged right back.
Yito: Too slow.
That was a no then.
T’Seva: I'll get you! You can't hide from all directions!
Yito: Timeout! :: Seja stood up. :: I really need a drink, I’m so thirsty :: A child whining voice ::
T'Seva: :: grabbing the ball :: Okay!
Park: ::poking her head out:: No tricks?
Satisfied, she got herself ice cold water. She hadn’t realized how thirsty she was until she took her first sip. The cool liquid made her sigh in relief.
Yito: Computer, a lemonade.
T'Seva considered her options.
T'Seva: Computer, kava juice.
Park: Good call on the hydration.
If she had thought about it more, she would have wondered why she hadn't suggested for them earlier. They were exercising after all.
T'Seva: Do we want to keep doing this, play another game, or do something else?
Yito: I’m not sure I’m a little hot and now tired.
Park: ::shrugging:: I’d love a change of scenery.
T'Seva: Well, if you're hot, we could get the holodeck to give us a beach and some water to splash in.
Ellie didn’t mention that beaches meant sun. She supposed they could just customize the temperature so it worked for everyone.
T'Seva: OR we could go to the actual pool and jump in some real water.
Yito: I’ll give that a miss. :: Regaining composure ::
Park: Yeah I don’t think I want to deal with wet hair right now.
She shuddered at the thought. She was already having a bad day, what with the whole whatever-this-was going on. She didn’t need to deal with looking like a drowned rat when she went to go see Lystra. She had the strongest desire to look nice for that.
T'Seva: Well...
Yito: As much as I had fun. There is something I need to go do.
Park: Oh? What’s your something?
Yito: Just something boring and adult.
Park: Gross.
She wrinkled her face in mock disgust.
T'Seva: Eww
Yito: I will hopefully see you later.
As Seja left, T'Seva turned to Ellie.
T'Seva: And...I hate to say it and leave you alone, but my mother is going to be worried about this. I should talk to her.
Park: ::smiling:: Don’t worry! There's somewhere else I'd really like to go to as well.
Well. More like someone.
T'Seva: I'll see you around...
With that, the holoprogram was ended and Ellie instinctively ran her hands over her hair and smoothed out her clothes. Dodge ball was hard on ones attire. Now- did she want to go to Oz or Lystra?
(OOC- Found this in my drafts unsent! Fixed it up real quick to close this scene out formally -Mel)
