His PADD beeped again, and he pulled it over and glanced at it. Following on from Admiral Heraan’s earlier brief note, it was the full specifications of their impending ship, from Starfleet Impound. 

Saveron: Our vessel is to be an immediately pre-Hobus Romulan Bird of Prey. 

Not to be confused with the significantly larger D'deridex-class - commonly called a Warbird - or the Klingon Bird of Prey. The pre-Hobus models were larger than those encountered by Starfleet one hundred Standard years ago, but still a relatively small vessel, designed to operate either in groups, or in a hit-and-run style manner. The kind of vessel a lower ranked Romulan commander might possess.

Shedet: Mind if I ask what we have? ::barely containing her glee.:: 

Shedet/Sherana/Lystra: response

Saveron: According to the transcript, it has forward facing disruptors, a complement of Romulan plasma torpedoes, and a functional cloaking device. 

That, right there, might make all the difference. It would also fit in perfectly with his own back story, which made him wonder just how much the Admiral really knew. There was nothing to be gained by questioning it however, so he quickly forwarded the information to Engineering. 

Shedet: I'll get the report started ASAP, Commander Saveron. I'll have it on your desk as quickly as possible.

Sherana: response

Lystra: response

Saveron: Your efforts are appreciated. Dismissed.

They all had work to do. 

A Vas Hatham class vessel. As they rose from their seats and the First Officer considered his next moves, he realised he was suppressing a touch of excitement. He, like everyone else, had to stay focused.
