(( Bridge - USS Aleek-Om ))

Since coming to the bridge, Motha had spent most of his time under one panel or another trying to trace down the weird signal that he had been following. The phylosian hadn't been paying much attention to what was going on around him as it was popping off one panel, examining what was in side, replacing it and then repeating it with another.

As he came out, he heard of voice and turned to pay attention. He couldn't let his mind focus too hard on the problem. What was it? He had to have situational awareness?

Sinclair: ::she looked down at Motha:: How are you comin’ along?

Motha: Everything is going well. I almost have it figured out. Shouldn't impact bridge functions. It's more for a clean system than anything.

Replacing the panel, the Phylosian was about to move on to the next when he tuned into the conversation that was happening. Had new people come to the bridge or did he just not notice them to begin with?

Kvash: Just a thought. Bear in mind their technology is more advanced than ours. Maybe we can tease out an advance that makes them more vulnerable?

Sinclair: Th’ problem Lieutenant is tha’ we do no’ know enough aboot them. We skirmished wi’ there ships a century an’ a half ago.

Kvash: And we don't, begging everyone's pardon, want a fight. I know, I know, a Klingon not wanting a fight.

There was a ship out there? Motha glanced at the scanner near him and saw the reading. He did not recognize the configuration but based on the conversation so far, he was pretty sure they weren't friendly.

Felbri: I wasn't planning on starting one.

Kvash: Sometimes, the honorable thing to do is not rush into a fight you are not confident you can win.

Sinclair: ::she shook her head:: Forgive me Leuftenant, but if you are no’ confident you can win head tae head, tha’ just means you hev tae be more creative.

Kvash: Of course. But I am not a typical Klingon.

Motha felt a little out of place with this conversation. He was just a simple Ensign in engineering trying to make sure everything functions alright and it sounded like the bridge was about to become a hotbed of activity. He shifted his position towards the Engineering console just in case.

Sinclair: Tha’s odd. Is tha’ th’ Icarus transmitting its ID to the other ship? Why wuid it do tha’?

Kvash: That's very strange...probably something creative.

That was his cue...right? Motha's vines danced over the panel for a second picking up the ID and noticed it immediately.

Motha: The IDENT signature of the Icarus is carrying a secondary signal with it. That may be the reason?

Sinclair: ::She pulled up the sensor reading of the signal to her screen.:: Tha’ mak’s naw sense. There’s got tae be a reason. There! It’s  steganography! A message is hidden underneath the carrier wave. Someone is telling us to blind the sensors of the other ship.

Kvash: So, what's the best way to do that?

Motha: At a glance, it appears to be an algorithm of some type but as it is being directed at the other vessel out there, it might already be doing what they meant it to do?

Sinclair: What aboot a good auld fashioned smoke screen? Obviously not actual smoke, but you get th’ idea.

Felbri: Any ideas on how to do that?

Kvash: Hrm. I'm not...not regular bridge crew, but maybe we could do something with a particle burst?

Motha: The navigational deflec---

The Phylosian didn't have a chance to add anything more when a chime from one of the many consoles sounded.

Sinclair: What th’ ? The Icarus is sparking and firing into nothin’. Something is set wrong on tha’ ship. Th’ weird warp signature is back too.

Kvash: That's not good.

S'Jenes: =/\= Icarus sickbay to Aleek-Om Bridge. Ensign S'Jenes. Prepare your cargo transporters to receive remote pattern locks from our Emergency Medical Transporter. Please refrain from energizing until I give the command. =/\=

Felbri: =/\= Got it. =/\=

Kvash: =/\= I'll keep watching. =/\=

S'Jenes: =/\= We will relay each acquired transporter signature to your pattern buffer. Once every life sign—including my own—has been transferred, execute transport. Please confirm readiness. =/\=

Felbri: =/\= Ready. =/\=

S'Jenes: =/\= Ensign S'Jenes to Aleek-Om Bridge. All unphased personnel have been successfully relayed to your cargo transporter. Pattern integrity is nominal. You are cleared to energize all stored patterns simultaneously. Following completion of the transport, acquire and beam my pattern directly to Cargo Bay One. =/\=

Felbri: =/\= It will be done. =/\=

Anyone on Aleek-Om Bridge:=/\= Respond =/\=

Felbri: ::to S'Jenes:: =/\= Who are these people Ensign S'Jenes? The children of the original crew? =/\=

S'Jenes: =/\= response =/\=

Well, things were definitely kicking off now and Motha immediately began to bring up the engineering console from idle and ready to go. He made sure to feed the data directly to the other panels so the rest of the bridge crew could see what was going on.

Felbri: It's like the Icarus' power has become unstable.

Kvash: He's going to blow.

Motha: Ships are not powered by wind so I do not know how the Icarus blowing would make any difference.

Sinclair: response

Felbri: Response

Motha: Oh.

Yeah. The Phylosian needed to learn more idioms of the other species. At least the furball wasn't here to witness that goof.

Sinclair: response

Felbri: Response

Kvash: Unfortunate, but...

Motha: Transporters are continuing to activate. Ensign S'Jenes operation appears to be running as it needs to be from the limited information that I have.

Sinclair: response

Felbri: response

Kvash: ...do we have everyone off?

Motha: As far as I can see, the transporters that were being used by Ensign S'Jenes have completed though I do not know about anyone else on the ship at the moment as there is a lot of interference starting to build up around us.

Sinclair: response

Felbri: response

Kvash: response

Motha: It appears that whatever was transmitted to the other ship out there is actually working. Their navigational deflector is starting to fire of random bursts across all the different spectrum. It will actually mask us pretty well once we have everyone else on board.

Sinclair: response

Felbri: response

Kvash: response
