(( Tucker Station - Atan Family Temporary Quarters ))
Lera: I got ice cream.
T'Seva grinned.
T'Seva: Where? I'd like to get some myself.
The three Atan women were in their somewhat spartan temporary quarters on Tucker station. Lera was enjoying the place; it was a new experience for her, and she was curious about the shipfitters. Evria was on the couch with her. T'Seva was idly playing with Dara and a flirt stick.
Ch'Nilmani: =/\= Ch'Nilmani to Crew. This is a yellow alert recall. All selected crew on this transmission are activated and need to arrive at Docking Port 22-B Section 3. Once you have boarded, find your departments, prepare it and report your status. More details will be provided once everyone is on board. We'll be undocking ASAP. =/\=
T'Seva glanced at the others.
T'Seva: Looks like that's just for me. One second.
T'Seva: =/\= On my way. =/\-
Evria: That's not where the Constitution is docked, is it.
T'Seva: I think we have a nearest starship situation and are getting a loaner.
Lera: Meaning...
She snuggled closer to her mother.
T'Seva: Meaning you can't come, kid. Not this time. Whatever ship they found for us is probably small.
Lera: You're leaving.
T'Seva: Probably not for long.
Evria slipped her arm around the girl.
Evria: "Nearest starship situation" is fleeter slang for an emergency where you're the only people who can respond. It's most likely a distress call...it might be a few hours or a few weeks.
T'Seva: And normally we'd just take the Connie, but her shuttle bay is getting major surgery right now.
The Connie wasn't going anywhere for a while. What was at docking port 22-B? She had no idea. But she started to pack quickly, leaving everything not needed for what she suspected was a rescue mission.
Then she hugged her family and headed for Docking Port 22-B.
She slowed a bit as she approached, trying to see the ship. She glimpsed a wedge-shaped saucer....which was distinctive.
Nova class. A science vessel, but that didn't mean anything if this really was a nearest starship situation. It would be what they had available that could go. Some of the ships here had crews with them. This one, presumably, did not.
She walked on board the Aleek-Om, then found an access terminal so she could look up the layout.
She wasn't about to wander around lost.
