((Main Sickbay – USS Constitution-B))
The tantalizing scents of tea, raktajino and sweets hung in the air as they exited the labs and found the brightly lit lounge. A couch and coffee table were at the centerpiece of the room, with tables, chairs and some small food service areas with replicators dotted about. The perfect retreat for the busy researcher.
Foster: ah, yes, the department lounge. There’s raktajino and Vulcan tea and some sort of Betazoid stuff that smells a lot like lemonade – Swara juice, I think? Those are available at all times, everything else by replicator.
The three favorites of the medical department. Raktajino was a staple, Vulcan tea had caught on not only with the Vulcan researchers but anyone who liked a logically calming brew with a complex flavor, and Cade was pretty sure it was Doctor Spears, a former CMO, who introduced swara juice to the medical crew. It not only caught on, but stayed popular long after Spears moved on to an exciting posting on a swanky planet base.
Maramox: Would it be bad form to ask to stop our tour here? I would love to have something sweet to drink and maybe a snack.
Cade glanced at Maramox with a good natured, fatherly smirk. Something about that request reminded Cade of his own kid – who was also a medical officer. And who was an Andorian, who had an insatiable appetite.
Foster: Nah, we can stop. I could use a pick me up.
He headed on inside, waving them with him.
Maramox: We can snack together then. Do you happen to have anything else you would want to show me around the sickbay?
Considering that while he poured a generous cup (or two!) of raktajino he mused.
Foster: Well, we’ll get you set up with a research space, you saw main sickbay and the triage area. That’s the main bits, and you can explore the satellite areas at your leisure. Do you have any questions for me?
Maramox: ?
Settling down Cade looked as confy as could be with his hands wrapped around the warm mug.
Foster: I absolutely recommend checking out cetacean ops, if only to talk with Sarek the dolphin, but it’s one of the unique design features of the Galaxy Class ships, so you should check it out regardless.
Maramox: ?
Foster: also make sure you get your entry physical done, that’s setting a good example for the rest of the crew. And, take the time to settle in and enjoy shore leave.
Maramox: ?
Foster: I have a few scheduled corrective surgeries during break, nothing emergency that I know of. ::he knocked on the underside of the nearest wooden counter three times, a peculiarly Human gesture.:: Beyond that I’m available if you need me.
Maramox: ?
