((Sickbay, Deck 5 - USS Icarus))

Charlotte pointed to the bottle as it floated by towards Cade.

Foster: Tribbles and scotch. An odd combination. Neither regulation. Though the bottle hasn’t been opened.

Lystra nodded in agreement.

Brexis: Are we going to celebrate after this is all over? ::Rubbing the back of her neck as best as she could through the suit:: This is making my head hurt.

Foster: I’m game if you are. I’ll put it in a sample case just in case we have any more… gravity issues.

Lystra: Good Call. That would be a waste.

Suddenly directly in front of her she felt someone, up close and personal. She shoved herself back violently and let out a yelp.

Brexis: What in the Four Hells was that?!

Her breathing was heavy and fast as she tried to keep herself in a somewhat upright position, which was incredibly difficult in the low-g.

Foster: What happened? Are you OK?

Brexis: I felt someone standing right in front of me!

Lystra: I’ve got you. You said felt, did you hear anything when you sensed them?

Charlotte shook her head, suddenly feeling a bit sheepish at her reaction.

Foster: No.. not nothing. There are no lifesigns, true. But there’s a decaying amount of Teleron radiation, as if there was a burst right at the time that Lieutenant Brexis felt the presence.

Lystra groaned.

Lystra: Great.

Brexis: Does that help give us any indication of what might be going on here?

Foster: Teleron radiation has been connected to time displacement and subspace rifts. Problematically it’s a by product, not a cause. So it’s more useful in tracking rather than controlling.

She pursed her lips to the side, deep in thought.

Foster: If they did enter a subspace rift and something went wrong it’s possible that some of the crew survived. Though I hesitate to define some. It could be some of the fifty that were originally on the Icarus, or it could be some of each individual crew remained like an imprint without a whole body.

Lystra helped make sure Charlotte was okay, which was more appreciated than she could manage to say at the moment. Charlotte could handle a lot, but when it came to things that really spooked her to the bone, it was a bit harder to shake.

Lystra: There are fainter telerons near that door you opened Cade. I wonder if the interference hadn’t been obstructing our tricoders earlier if we would have detected telerons with the moving PADD?

Brexis: That’s a very real possibility. I think we might need to be more diligent about scanning.

Foster: Response

Lystra: I suppose we don’t have enough information for it to be more than theory, but if there’s a chance some of the Icarus crew survived…displaced somehow or even if just their imprinted memories do, we should let the other teams know to look for teleron radiation. If they detect any in their areas of the ship it might lend more credence. Or, could rule out this merely being localized to Sickbay.

Charlotte watched as Lystra looked back up to the face in the ceiling, she reached out and placed her hand on Lystra’s shoulder, keeping her tone soft.

Brexis: Let’s keep looking for radiation or something else useful, yeah?

Foster: Response

Lystra grabbed one of the PADDs that were floating around the room and held it out for one of them to scan it.

Lystra: Any chance one of these has enough juice to link to a tricorder?

Brexis: Won’t know unless we try.

Foster: Response

Her tricorder was now in her hand and she pointed it towards the PADD being held out.

Brexis: No luck. ::Pointing it towards the other floating PADD:: Nothing there either.

Foster/Lystra: Response

Charlotte went to wipe her hand against her forehead, forgetting she was wearing the suit and thudded the suit's control interface on her forearm against her helmet. She glared for a moment before smirking.

Brexis: I have an idea. ::Grabbing one of the PADDs:: This may or may not go horribly wrong, but I think it’s worth a shot.

Foster/Lystra: Response

She opened the control interface on her EVA suit and pulled out the power cable to the battery. Then she stuck them in the end of the PADDs port and wiggled them around. She almost thought it was a lost cause and gave up. After a few more moments of wiggling and pushing the exposed cable ends into the port, the screen flickered to life.

Brexis: I know. I know… It’s not conventional. But it worked. I’ll give it a few minutes to charge, but we should be able to access something on it now.

Foster/Lystra: Response
