(( Operations Center ))
No matter if the ship moved or not, was docked or not, in orbit or
not, things in Operations were always busy. The word had been
passed down through the bush vines that a bunch of Senior Officers
were unable to do their work because somehow they had been turned
into children and teenagers. How? Nobody knew, or they didn't
share. Rude.
Even more rude was that the Chief of HCO had to leave for a
symposium about progress and updates in the Operations field and
had left Chandni in charge of the OPS Department. Why did he think
that was a good idea. She only was a Lieutenant Junior Grade.
Surrounded by dozens of PADDs with reports, messages, requests
from all over the ship. She had done this job for a long time,
twelve years now, and she knew all she had to do. But having this
added pressure of not fallback guy was stressful.
Kapoor: Tadis, Science is still waiting for these particle
containers. H'lal how's that energy realignment for the school
going? O'Donnel wants to start the experiment.
H'lal: On it, boss.
Tadis: Sent them out just a second ago.
Grabbing the next PADD Chandni was going through the list and let
her fingers fly through the energy allocation files, to pick some
from the waste management systems that were not in use right now
and routed them to Sick Bay, as it seemed the Isolation ward was
filled with more people, and would need more power.
Kapoor: Main Shuttle Bay one needs a pilot to bring the Captain's
Yacht back into its dock.
She heard beeping behind her when someone began typing.
Jones: G'Ral is on duty and available, sending him out.
Kapoor: Thanks. ::Tapping her badge:: =/\= Kapoor to Dimar. How
are these translations coming along? =/\=
Dimar: =/\= Still working on it. It's seems to be similar to a few
languages but unfamiliar. Where did you say it was found? =/\=
Kapoor: =/\= Flea market on Starbase 104. Keep me updated. Kapoor
out. =/\=
The Indian woman took a deep breath leaning her head back, as she
raised a hand to rub the back of her neck. This was going to be a
long shift. At least she had the whole department behind her,
working their best as they always had. She just had to make sure
that everyone stayed on top of things.
Zh'raalil: Response
Opening her eyes, Chandni lowered her gaze to the origin of the
voice, seeing blue antennae first, then white hair, then the face.
Clearly Andorian.
Kapoor: That's me. And you are?
Zh'raalil: Response
Kapoor: Oh! Right yes, I saw your name in a file. New arrival
right? Please call me Chandni. Sorry for the chaos, you've come at
a busy time.
Zh'raalil: Response
Kapoor: Well, we did not get all details but here's what I know.
We took a delegation of Cardassian and Federation Archaeologists
on board, they were working together on Vryshaan unearthing
history and such. So we worked on an exhibit of their findings and
somehow - nobody told me yet how - part of that delegation and our
crew were... de-aged. Into the age between 8 and like 25. Most of
which however are children and teenagers.
Zh'raalil: Response
Kapoor: Yes, looks like they are working on fixing that just based
on all the energy consumption. So let's hope we get our Commanding
Officer back. ::leaning against the console.:: Our Chief is
currently not on board so I'm interims chief. So welcome aboard
and to HCO. What's your specialty?
