((Ruins, Southern Hemisphere, Syraya))
Avoo'na turned their attention back to the aliens.
Avoo'na: Let's return to your ship.
Foster: Let’s. As I said we’re willing to go and leave you alone.
Avoo'na headed out of the clearing, following the main path the aliens had been walking on before.
S’jenes: We will withdraw in accordance with your leadership's directive and file appropriate navigational maps to prevent further intrusion.
Jin’Tauri: ::they muttered with sarcasm:: Sure. I’ll believe that one.
oO Pointy-ear seems to like using a lot of words. Oo
Avoo'na: It occurs to me, t'gons, that we don't even know each other's names. My name is Avoo'na-letket'ra Petryr.
Foster: Avoo'na-letket'ra Petryr. ::Despite his tension he had enough discipline to relax a bit and offer a diplomatic nod.:: I am glad to meet you. I am Cade Foster.
S'Jenes: S'jenes, Son of Jorel... Science Officer, your assistance in subduing the creature was...effective.
Jin'Tauri: Jin’Tauri Noram.
Foster: As we said before, we did not know of the existence of this planetoid. Our Federation is united in a desire to explore and understand.
Jin'Tauri: Exploration inevitably precedes expansion.
S'Jenes: Our scans confirm this world exhibits astrophysical anomalies inconsistent with standard planetary formation models. Such phenomena naturally invites investigation. I second Commander Foster, Our presence here was purely scientific, not territorial.
Foster: This is a planet that sustains itself, without a star. That in and of itself is curious. You people know of curiosity?
Jin'Tauri: Curiosity is a dangerous thing. It is good practice to never let your curiosity cause you to extend yourself further than you can draw yourself back.
Avoo'na: It's not so curious, Cade Foster. Syraya gets heat from the ground rather than a star. Like the creatures that Petryr made to live at the bottom of Kamir's oceans.
As they walked, they had reached the cylinder rock that Jin'Tauri had cut. Rather than going around it, Avoo'na took a running start and jumped over it.
S'Jenes: Curiosity is a catalyst for advancement. The lesson I have learned from this is the distinction lies in how it is exercised and whether that exercise is tempered with respect. Curiosity, when disciplined, is indistinguishable from survival. When undisciplined, it becomes intrusion. We will make sure ours remains the former.
Jin'Tauri: I’m sure it makes sense to your culture.
Foster: response
S'jenes: It is not our intent to interfere further. However, the organism we encountered suggests this region is not as isolated as it may appear.
Jin'Tauri: The Taznakrtra is not a native species. It is found on several nearby worlds, but it doesn’t have the rock like chitin or massive size that it has here.
Avoo'na: We have found similar structures on worlds nearby as well.
Foster: response
S'Jenes activated their scanner device.
S'jenes: Subsurface readings indicate an extensive tunnel network. The creature's retreat path remains active although it is increasing distance from our position.
Foster: response
S'Jenes paused.
S'jenes: Commander, absent transporter capability, I recommend we return to our shuttle and reassess orbital conditions from there.
Foster: response
Jin'Tauri: As long as you go and leave me to my rocks. There is much work I need to do, and chasing you two has lost me too much time.
Avoo'na: And don't go taking your curiosity to nearby worlds without checking if Kameryans were there first.
Avoo'na didn't want the aliens to take Avoo'na's mentioning of the other ancient structures as an invitation to go see them for themselves. The last thing the Kameryan archaeologists at those sites needed was a distraction like the one that they had had here.
S'jenes: We will not approach further installations or conduct additional scans without your explicit consent first.
Avoo'na: Most appreciated S'Jenes.
S'Jenes tapped a piece of metal on his shirt. At the same time Cade Foster got a message.
T'Seva: =/\= Const--- Commander Foster. Do--- read? =/\=
S'jenes: =/\= Ensign S'jenes to Constitution-B. Iaonaie crew intact. Indigenous species confirmed. Hostile engagement de-escalated. =/\=
Rajel: =/\=

here S'Jenes, confirmed--- it to
T'Seva--- =/\=
S'jenes: =/\= Response =/\=
T'Seva: =/\= I heard S'jenes--- more comp--- down there? =/\=
Foster: =/\= Response =/\=
Avoo'na: Cade Foster, why do they only call you Foster but call S'Jenes by their full name?
Foster: response
Avoo'na looked between the two aliens.
Avoo'na: You mean... you are not of the same species?
Foster/S'Jenes: response
They now were close enough to the aliens ship to see it properly. It was different than Avoo'na had been expecting. It was smaller, and blocky, not the aesthetically pleasing designs of Kameryan ships.
Jin'Tauri: Your ship. I suggest you get on it and launch.
Avoo'na went around the alien's ship to see every angle of it before coming to a conclusion.
S’Jenes/Foster: response
After going around the outside of the ship Avoo'na stopped at S'Jenes and Foster.
Avoo'na: Must say, t'gons, for so many species in your Star Fleet I would have expected a nicer looking ship. ::jokingly:: Looks like a soyora.
S’Jenes/Foster: response
Jin’Tauri: =\/= Ta'an, we have escorted our visitors back to their shuttle ship. =\/=
Ta'an: =\/= response, if any =\/=
Avoo'na didn't notice Jin'Tauri prepping a data crystal, they were curious about these aliens.
Avoo'na: Do your species not fight each other?
Foster/S'Jenes: response
Avoo'na followed them onto the shuttle, looking around.
oO Where are the plants? Water features? Oo
Avoo'na: Why do you not have plants on your ship?
S’Jenes/Foster: response
Avoo'na: What? I thought you valued curiosity?
Avoo'na knew that they were pushing it slightly, but these aliens seemed tolerant so far. Besides, by accident or not, they had gone snooping into Kameryan territory.
Foster/Jin'Tauri/S’Jenes: response
Avoo'na: You don't go into a koewoih den and then act surprised when it follows you.
((OOC: Koewoih- Kamir sea creature, docile scavengers known to follow larger animals, such as Kameryans around, in the hopes of eating the scraps of food they leave behind. Will often form bonds with the animals they follow around.))
Foster/Jin'Tauri/S’Jenes: response
