Ba'el: We can link each shuttles sensor system with the ships, thus
improving our ability to target phasers if needed. It is limited, but
until we fine tune our sensors, this is the best option, in my opinion.

Ch'Nilmani: Go ahead.

T'Seva: :: moving her hands again :: Setting that up now.

Ba'el input the last of her instructions for the shuttle crews and looked up to T'Seva

Ba'el: Instructions sent. Flight crews ready to depart.

T'Seva: And set. Let me see what my algorithm is up to...oh, not that.

Looking up to the viewscreen, Ba'el could see a small adjustment had been made, but on the whole, the image was still very cluttered and would still be difficult to use. She turns her head when she hears Ch'Nilmani give a small sigh.

Ch'Nilmani: It's good to focus on defense but remember. We're still in
Federation territory and this is a science mission. The nearest hostile
to Starfleet is quite a few light years away. Let's not lose focus on
those we have out there.

Ba'el: Of course not sir.

T'Seva: response

Ch'Nilmani: With that in mind, how about we do some science work on this
nebula itself. Not just how it's messing with our sensors. We should be
able to at least start logging data on composition and stuff. We can't
let the shuttlecrafts have all the sciencey fun.

Ba'el: Agreed, it would be better to limit their sciencey fun in favor of our fun instead.

T'Seva: response

Ch'Nilmani: How about the composition of the nebula. Anything cool or
new there our PhDs can write research papers on?

T'Seva: response

Ch'Nilmani: ::To Ba'el :: On that left panel of my chair, you should be
able to extend the mini-LCARs and get an overview of the sensor suite.
Try your hand at connecting to that probe we have out there and see if
you can pull anything from it. It's not gonna get much on the planet but
we should be able to see if there are any layers to this nebula or any
other fun things.

Ba'el: Aye sir.

Ba'el spent the next few minutes tying her stations LCARS with the probes sensors.  Once she was satisfied with the connection she began looking through the probe's telemetry for any useful data. She wasn't sure what she was looking at, or what she should be looking for. Ba'el had only taken the required basic science classes at the academy. She felt a little out of her depth, but she felt that she owed Ch'Nilmani her best effort nonetheless.

Ba'el: The rate of Adiabatic ionization seems to be stable at the moment.

Ch'Nilmani: Respond

T'Seva: Respond

Ba'el: However the probe is detecting a slight increase in Thermal ionization near the impulse exhaust ports.

Ch'Nilmani: Respond

T'Seva: Respond

Ba'el: It doesn't seem to be a problem at the moment, but it does bear watching sir.

Ch'Nilmani: Respond

T'Seva: Respond
