PNPC Sherana - Finally a chance

Sherana: Wouldn't it be fascinating to compare and host the plants of two very different origins, both grown in darkness under different circumstances with different requirements for energy sources?
There was a spark in her eyes, an excitement in her voice, that did not translate to her face in a smile. A challenge that was almost as exciting as an opponent.
Evria: We already have Linaran plants in the arboretum. If we can get samples from this world...
Sherana: ::nodding:: If we use the Linara example as a base, the energy comes in parts from thermal energy, energy through waterflow and in other parts by plants having adjusted to need as little light as possible. ::She straightened, again that excitement in her eyes.:: In some cases the presence of each other is enough light to feed energy into each other, by providing fluorescense.
Evria: Right. But I do wonder about radiotrophism in this situation. For that matter, some of the Linaran plants are to a degree.
Sherana: A shame that we won't know before we can have a look at them. I wonder if the crew of this other ship has botanists who have already explored the flora.
Evria: Assuming we get a dialog going, we could ask to compare notes.
Sherana: I hope we will have the chance for that. Unless they hold their cards close to their chest.
Evria: It may be that the flora is why they are here, depending.
Sherana: It's possible. There maybe quite some uses for plants growing in such environment that would not be possible otherwise. Maybe they plan to settle here?
Evria: It doesn't seem a likely planet for colonization, but for study...there's got to be multiple monographs in the place!
Sherana: Mhm that makes sense. Let us prepare what we can and if we have a chance we will take a look around.
So they continued their work and not too long into the future they would have a chance to join as members of the further away teams to have a look at the planet themselves and work with the Kameryans to research the plant of the planet they were in such urgent need to get.
