((The Saloon, Deck 10, USS Constitution-B))

Elias set a PADD down in front of Perax with the menu and its extensive list of food and drinks, both alcoholic and non, available. As well as the specials. Currently: Jambalaya, Bolarus Fish and Chips, and Chicken and Dumplings with three sides of their choice.

Perax: I’ll have the Jambalaya and a strawberry milkshake.

Kincaid: Well, that’s a mighty fine choice. ::He said as he tapped the order into the LCARs built into the counter of the bar:: Shouldn’t take long fer any of that. In the meantime, how’re ya likin’ tha Conny so far?

Perax:  It’s a lot different than what I expected. The informal attitude among the officers, buggy racing, even the makeup of the crew deviates from the standard. The ship itself is luxurious even for an older ship, but I’m finding it unusual. I haven’t been in Engineering yet; I’ve been told I won’t be scheduled until the end of shore leave, though I itch to see Main Engineering. So I’ve been memorising other parts of the ship.

Kincaid: Well, sooner or later everyone comes ta tha Saloon. So I tend ta get ta see everyone eventually. Easy ta notice a new face.

Perax: Do I really stand out that much?

He adjusted the brim of his hat so it sat a little higher on his brow and chuckled.

Kincaid: Quite, though it ain’t yer fault. While not everyone has tha same reaction, anyone I don’t recognize that stands near tha door with that awed expression usually is new enough it’s a good bet.

Perax: I guess that would be a give away. So, how long have you been on the Constitution?

Kincaid: Hmm, if’n I had ta think on it, goin’ on about five years now I reckon.

Perax: That’s a fairly long time to be on one ship. You have probably seen a lot of people come and go.

Again he nodded and let out a deep chuckle. It was a more or less foregone conclusion that everyone on board came to the Saloon eventually. They had the teahouse and the Brew Continuum, but if someone wanted a nice home cooked meal that wasn’t replicated, this was where they came.

Kincaid: Yes, sir. Most come fer tha food or libations. Some come fer the atmosphere and view. Many come ta chat with Sarek while they eat. I get ta see and take care of everyone that walks through them doors.

Elias looked up as the doors swung open again and smiled at the lovely doctor when she entered.

Kincaid: Howdy darlin’, what can I getcha?

Park: Response

Kincaid: Yes, ma’am. I’ll have that right out fer ya.

Perax: Um, hi. You were at the naming and ribbon ceremony weren’t you?

Park: Response

Perax: I’m Leran Perax. I just joined the Constitution a few days ago.

Park: response

Elias brought out the food that the Ensign ordered and set the plate of Jambalaya on the counter in front of him. Along with the requested milkshake. He then set a bowl of cornbread between them. It had about a dozen squares of the delicious, slightly buttery and semi sweet morsels. He placed Ellie’s order in front of her as well with his usual cordial hat tip.

Kincaid: There ya go, Pardner. Enjoy. And there ya are darlin’. ::he noticed the PADD:: Got a couple of the cubby tables open at tha moment if’n yer wantin’ ta read all quiet like.

Park/Perax: Response
