He sat there looking all sassy and professional and good at rowing, smiling at the two ladies in the water. He was more than willing to tow them and look like a hero. Because he liked being the hero. And the winner. And all the good things.
Foster: At this point I’ve worked up an appetite and I just wanna get to that beach and dig into something delicious.
Heeka: I'll take a ride.
T’Seva: :: laughing :: We can retrieve the boats later.
Heeka: ::to T'Seva:: There's room for two, if you don't mind getting a little close.
He paddled forward with the tow line, casting it out to pull the lovebirds back to shore.
Foster: Grab on and we’ll get shorewards.
Heeka: Have either of you heard the story of the frog and scorpion?
Foster: … I have not.
He perked a brow, suddenly suspicious.
T'Seva: I have heard several stories about frogs and scorpions, but probably not the same one...
And then Heeka ducked under the water and the boat rocked.
And tipped.
And Cade played a really good game of rock and tip, balance and adjust.
Really good, but not good enough as the boat was pushed to one side and he tumbled out.
Foster: Augh!
Heeka: ?
T'Seva: I guess we just get ashore.
Foster: I guess we swim!
Heeka: ?
T'Seva: I smell barbecue.
Foster: I like barbecue…
Heeka: ?
The trio swam onshore and Cade shook himself off like a wet dog, leaving Heeka and T’Seva to admire one another as he fetched a towel.
Hey, he still had on his sassy, obnoxiously patterned shorts. That was nice…
Time for some barbecue!
