(( Starbase 104 - The Space ))
Flores: Movie nights would be fun. Although the old method of gathering in the mess hall with a projector might be a bit boring. I can’t imagine what we would have been able to pull off with holodecks back then. Half movie night and half live performance.
T'Seva: We could just program in a movie theater and get Kincaid to make popcorn.
Old 2D movies were their own experience, and their own form of art, nothing like anything on the holodeck.
T'Seva: But what about the live performance part?
Flores: It’s a long story. I’ll explain later.
T'Seva: Too eager to show off?
It was a solid piste, meant for snowboarding as well as hoverboarding. And quite the view.
Flores: You know, I’d challenge you to a race down the trail if one, you didn’t have a definite speed advantage and two, needed to stay close lest I get a bit too reckless. You ready?
T'Seva: For a race we'll need two of those things.
Flores: ::Looking down at the hoverboard:: Alright, time for the real test. Let’s see what a couple of museum pieces can do.
T'Seva flew after her, staying close but not too close as Flores boarded. She was good, T'Seva had to admit. But getting faster and faster...
T'Seva: Careful...
...and right as T'Seva said that, she drifted that bit too close to an edge, clipped a tree trunk, and spun.
T'Seva: Need a rescue?
Rachel tried to pull herself out of the spin, forcing the hoverboard to course correct. And more importantly, to slow down.
Flores: No, I’ve got it!
T’Seva: Don't over...
And then Flores had it...gave T'Seva a thumbs up, leaned too far back and....somersaulted straight into a large snowbank.
Sploosh! Smush! The snow was soft at least, because T'Seva was way too slow...having given her a bit of space when she said she got it. She hovered above the snowbank, trying not to laugh as Rachel got up and shook snow out of her visor.
Flores: I had it.
T’Seva: I know you did.
Flores: ?
T'Seva: I think the prescription for faceplanting into a snow bank is a hot drink.
Flores: ?
T'Seva: There's a stand not far from here that sells Terran coffee, Terran hot chocolate, jumja tea *and* raktajino.
If that didn't cover Flores' needs, she knew a place somewhere that woulrd.
Flores: ?
