PNPC Ens. Siance Thyar - (Backsim) Sharing food and time

Siance smiled at him, reaching for the box that had her name on it
curious what Kincaid had packed for her. The scent of spices
floated up into her nose, watering her mouth.
Thyar: He remembered my favorite. Drinaer.
Ilix: Not surprised. I asked him to make your favorite and I’m
pretty sure the man was the head of SFI in a past life. ::He
chuckled to himself:: What exactly is Drinaer?
Thyar: It is lamb with a spicy cream sauce and pasta.
Traditionally it is made with a Ploriz Pasta, that is a special
kind of grain but that is near impossible to get off world. Trill
are quite protective of it, so I accept the kind that Kincaid can
get.
Ilix: Oh, I didn’t realize that he wouldn’t be able to make it
exactly. I’m sorry.
Thyar: No that's fine. I still need reasons to go back home for
visits, right? ::she chuckled.:: But this dish is surprisingly
light and wonderfully creamy. If the lamb is cooked right it just
falls apart. And the best part is that the left over is amazing
cold in a wrap with some cheese. ::She grinned at him.:: What did
he pack for you?
Ilix: Honestly? I don’t know. I never asked for anything. I just
told Kincaid I wanted food for a picnic and to make whatever your
favorites were. ::He shrugged sheepishly:: I didn’t really ask him
for anything for myself.
When he opened his box she looked over, craning her neck to see
what he had. The scent floated into her nose and she couldn't say
she knew what that was. But it smelled nice.
Ilix: Tan’s breath! Kefara.
Thyar: Kefara? What's that?
His whole face lit up as he tilted the box to show her.
Ilix: It’s a Tandaran dish. It’s cheese filled meat, wrapped in an
outer pastry shell. With vegetables in a light, spicy cream sauce.
::He thought a moment:: Think of them like that Human dish,
Ravioli, but better because each bit you get gooey cheese from
inside the meat. ::He ruminated for another moment:: It’s usually
made with meat from a Tandaran Bison.
Just listening to it made her mouth water.
Thyar: That... sounds delicious.
He laughed. Siance reached out to take the utensils he handed her
so she could eat, and then sat down with her.
Ilix: He’s never made it before, so the sneak must have researched
Tandaran dishes after I left.
She chuckled when his stomach growled the moment he settled in.
Thyar: Looks like you should eat quickly or your stomach will
Ilix: Yeah, well I haven’t eaten anything all day. Between
planning this, waiting for this and wanting to enjoy whatever
Kincaid had cooked up I wanted to make sure I had plenty of room.
Siance looked at him in surprise. He had not eaten all day because
of their little picnic trip? She was relieved that he would be
eating now. Digging into her food with the fork she raised it and
grinned hearing his groan of enjoyment.
Ilix: Tan thank you for this wonderful meal and please bless Elias
Kincaid for all eternity. ::He chuckled as he recited the blessing
between bites:: Want to try some?
Siance never had been one for religion or something but she was
pretty sure people usually said blessings before eating. That he
ate first and then did it was to her a sign that he was really
really hungry. Or his people did it differently. What would she
know. At his offer she smiled and nodded and leaned in to take the
bite from the fork he held out. She looked up with big eyes as she
leaned back and brushed with her fingertips over her mouth.
Thyar: Oh this is good. Here try some of mine too!
She grinned and piled up some of her meal on the fork and held it
out to him to share as well. She smiled and they spent the next
few hours in this place, staying until they could watch the stars
and talked about all kind of things. All in all it was a very
enjoyable and peaceful day. A day that caused a lot of questions
and feelings, a good day.
