(( Deck 4 - USS Icarus ))
If she only could call the others and let them know what she found
out without leaving in case they wanted to try something else. She
had to be ready! Though she really wanted to run off and tell the
others that she found people who could make them see her. But if
they wanted to take the next step and try again her non-presence
would be a kick in the head.
Sitting down on the floor Barb stretched her legs and bounced her
feet from side to side. Waiting was boring. She wished she had a
PADD with a little game on it even that stupid snake trying to not
bite its own tail was more exciting than watching people move
their mouth and not hearing them and just waiting for them to do
something. It wasn't their fault, but that didn't make it less
boring.
Barb dropped her head back blowing raspberries when she looked at
the ceiling, counting the panels. That was a lot harder when you
realized that panels were so big that after three you'd have to go
down the hallway to see more. With a groan she stopped that
enrapturing activity and returned her eyes to the trio. She pulled
her legs back to sit criss cross when she saw the sparkle in the
air and those handheld things appeared. She was pretty sure it was
transporters, though it looked different. She saw the woman of the
team move and tapped something.
Barb watched her closely and to her surprise she could hear that
sound. It was morse. Barb's face lit up. The woman knew morse
code!
T'Seva: << Trying again to bring you into phase. >>
Barb nodded and scooted to the side, to bring her earpiece down
against the wall. Well that went right through. Right she needed
more focus. She did and she managed to just so, tap three times.
Long - short - long. <<K>>. It wasn't much but should
convey that she understood.
She scooted back to the front of the group, still sitting on the
ground and waiting. She felt that tingle from before.
Ba'el: It seems to be working!
Barb grinned and stood from the floor to not have to look up like
that the whole time. While she didn't make out all that the woman
said, she heard her, so that counted. The human woman was relieved
that this waiting was over.
Byrnes: Hello again! I was wondering if you'd be trying again.
S'Jenes: Respond
T'Seva: Respond
Seeing a movement she turned her attention to the woman with the
strange forehead, who pulled off the helmet. Barb at first thought
the woman was ready to die, but when she saw her breathe she
realized that the environmental systems must have been
reactivated. That meant the ship had power.
T'Seva: Respond
S'Jenes: Respond
Ba'el: Can you understand me Lt. Byrnes?
Byrnes: I do! Who are you? I know you are Starfleet. ::She
gestured to the emblem on the suits.:: But your names...
Ba'el: I am Lt. Ba'el ::Gestures to the others:: These are Lt.
Commander T'Seva, and Ensign S'Jenes. We are here to try and help
you.
Byrnes: Then you know what happened to us?
T'Seva/S'Jenes/Ba'el: Respond
Byrnes: I don't know, I'm no engineer. I was on the bridge, did my
usual work you know communicating between the departments,
informing HQ of our next jump and such. When we the jump and red
alert went off only seconds before the power failed all over the
ship.
T'Seva/S'Jenes/Ba'el: Respond
Byrnes: We could still breathe. We didn't float.. but I got the
new superpower of talking through walls. But now I have a feeling
that wasn't a super power. You said phasing earlier.. what does
that mean? What's happening to us?
T'Seva/S'Jenes/Ba'el: Respond
Byrnes: Does that mean you can he-
Ch'Nilmani: =/\= Diz to Teams 2, 3, and 5. We got a problem.
Patches and her team have been way laid by what appears to be
Sheliak. I think the Icarus is being boarded. =/\=
Barbs blue eyes widened. Boarded? She had no idea what a Patches
was or a Sheliak but being boarded wasn't good. Not good at all.
T'Seva: response
Foster/Shimisi/Anyone: response
Ch'Nilmani: =/\= Right now it looks like there just talking but
you know that's only a prelude to shooting. =/\=
T'Seva: response
Foster/Shimisi/Anyone: response
Byrnes: They can't get the ship whoever they are! This tech isn't
meant to go to someone else. ::She was as far as she knew the only
one that had contact to these people - after all she had not heard
any of the other conversations - so she had a job to do. :: What
can I do to help?
T'Seva/S'Jenes/Ba'el: Respond
